Are you asking about this?....

Capture.JPG

There is no fix for this.

The best you can do is find a different prop texture that makes it less obvious.

This is one of those things that cannot be fixed when porting over old planes into FSX.

As for Eugene, I think he has been out of simming for a long time.

The only thing I did was to put the gauges that came in the download into the panel folder and copy the Cessna208.gauge from my FS9 install.

I am running FSX/Acceleration, which version are you running?

Hello:

I am running FSX/Acceleration(Deluxe)

Snap1.jpg

DirectX 10 no change

Addit! pro reports no missing gauges

I did was to put the gauges that came in the download into the panel folder

Even the gauges that are in the the Gauges folder that un-ziped with the download?

Thanks for helping

Yep, any time I install a "cut and paste" plane like this the gauges always go into the panel folder.

That way, when I delete the plane from my hangar, the gauges go with it.

FSX looks in the active panel folder for gauges first, then it looks in ...\FSX\Gauges for anything it has yet to find.

Not sure why you see the black square and I do not. Must be a difference in GPUs or something.

The black square, or Strings clear square is the projection background for the instruments.

So I suspect if it's showing black then the instruments won't show. Presumably other aircraft do not have this problem, so is that version corrupted, or is it based on .gau gauges that are not compatible? Never seen it before except when I'm developing & for some reason the export from Gmax to mdl has not worked correctly.

Sorry not much help, but someone else might drop by.

Quick thought - check the panel.cfg & see what $ file is called up if any.

Have you tried it in FS9? Does it do the same?

Good luck

Keith

They should work in FS9.

Are you sure you are copying the contents of the gauges file in the zip and not the whole gauges folder?

IE, make sure you do not have ...\FS9\Gauges\gauges\[a bunch of .gau files]

I see a couple differences in your pic compared to what I have.

Can you verify you are using dhc3pzl.zip from this library?

Well I downloaded the simviation. wheeled version and the VR panel is the same as yours.

The 2d is different and looks better.

Now to experiment with the float version....

Sorry to drive you crazy again......
