Joe12pack
Quick question... At what point or altitude during a normal landing does the flight crew disengage the autopilot? Thanks
dspaulding
VMC or IMC? During visual approaches, company wants autopilot off at 1,500AGL. During instrument approaches, the charted lowest altitude for that approach being flown, ie. ILS=DA; LOC VOR GPS LDA=MDA If CAT II/III it would be to the DH for that approach. Note: Visual approaches, non-precision approaches, and CAT I ILS approaches do not have to be flown by the auto-pilot, however CAT II/III approaches is mandatory to use autopilot coupled approach to DH. I hope that answers your question.
