thanks kenny, steve, steve, klee, larry, adam, peter and thorsten! vfr steve: funny how perspectives differ: to you its a cuddly bunny rabbit, to me it was a real hot-rod. 310d, very much like the b shown here, was the first twin i ever flew, got my multi in one. klee: both planes are freeware from rob richardson, who only develops for fsx acceleration. sorry, it would have pleased me greatly to be able to tell u otherwise. adam: i watched it as a kid, but by the time i discovered it the 310 was in use. btw, that b model comes with the sky king paint used in the show. cant tell u how many boxes of cereal i went thru trying to get the free plastic 310 they advertised -only got the jeep and the dog and other stuff over and over, lol.

A nice set of shots Phil. Once a hotrod always a hotrod!

Funny how the artefacts of our youth always seem to have special meaning.

In my early teens I though vehicles like the F-104 and the 67 Mustang were just the coolest, most modern things ever.

I hear ya. I'll never forget standing in front of a model plane i built as a kid, and thinking how futuristic it was (f-105) and how lucky I was to live in such modern times. I think it was 1962. reminds me of something russel crowe says in master and commander, looking at a model of a new ship design: "fascinating, modern age we live in."
