Convert bgl to a text or Excel file

I recently installed worldINT.bgl from http://www.aero.sors.fr/navint.html to update the FSX waypoints. Can someone recommend an easy to use utility that can deconstruct the bgl file to make a text file of the waypoint names and locations. I like to duplicate real flight plans using info from FlightAware and a lookup list of waypoints makes this easier to program in the FSX flight planner. Thanks.

I believe there may be a tool to convert a bgl to an xml and a tool to convert an xml to an xls. However, I don't know a way of conveting it back once you have altered it.

Bgl2Xml GUI by scruffyduck will decode to xml bglcomp files. The same site you got the waypoints from has tools for VOR NDB and ILS (but not waypoints).

Other than that I don't think anyone has ever created a vector terrain or DEM decoder, and photoscenery is compressed with an unknown compression technique. Model Convertor X can extract model data from BGL files. Aside from that there are some "cats and dogs" bgls that are in unique formats.

Thanks for the replies. I don't want to change the bgl, just extract the data to make an up to date listing of available waypoints in FSX. Does anyone know the name of the program that converts xml to Excel or to a text file?

Using Bgl2Xml to extract the waypoint information to an xml, then to an Excel sheet was simplicity itself. Thanks again.

Now I'm curious about the 1 or 2 alphanumeric region code that is included with each waypoint. Does anyone know where I can find a list of the codes and the geographic area they cover?

Have a look at this- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ICAO-countries.png

I think that is what you are looking for.
