object placement tool

Is there a way to put one object on top of another, like an airplane on the deck of an aircraft carrier?

I would think that if the aircraft carrier is a static object with a hard deck you could do it. The other possibility would be to adjust the elevation of the object you want to place to match the deck elevation of the carrier. It must be a static object, you can't place anything on a moving object. Hope this helps!

One more question, how do I change the elevation of an object?

With Instant Scenery do a right click on the object and then on object properties. There you modify elevation. To set a new height you have to slew above the object.

In the Object Placement Tool(OPT) to change elevation-after you've added the object- look for the "World Position". It has the longitude and latitude followed by +0000000.00. That is the elevation above ground level. Double click on that line and add whatever you think will work. After you input a number right click the mouse anywhere within the OPT screen and your object will jump up. Experiment with that until you achieve your desired height.
