Hello:

"This gauge was created for Flight Sim '98 or earlier."

I have FS Panel Studio for FSX

I'm trying to update 2004 aircraft panels

Error does not name the gauge

Can a FS98 gauge be up-dated?

Is there a gauge cleaning app for FSX?

Can this be fixed?

Can this be fixed? Yes

Is it a quick fix? No

Can you fix it with FS Panel Studio? Yes

Basically any gauge that was coded for fs98 will not work in FSX, and there is now way to update those gauges. Alot of 3rd party FS9 planes use older gauges and when you try to use those aircraft in FSX you get the error you are getting.

So what needs to be done here? Well you need to replace all the old gauges with new ones in FS Panel Studio, you can use any and all gauges you have in your simulator gauge folder. You will have to do all the VC gauges and 2d panel gauges.

Can you tell me what plane this is and where it was downloaded from? This will allow me to assist further.

Lets start with a simple panel:

FS2004 1948 Cessna 170A. The 170 series was very successful for Cessna; over 5000 were produced. This FSDSv2 model has alpha channel reflective surfaces, moving parts, nav and landing lights and a pilot figure. The 2D panel is based on a photo. A VC with working gauges is included. Note: Any chance of use X-plane Panel bit-map.

Thank you very much.

I have enough info to dive into panel repair.

I going to save all tips and tuts in a POSTED notebook folder

If you want to PM me I'll send you the whole plane redone. I did the following:

1) Fixed all gauges

2) Added a COM1/NAV1 radio. It did not make sense to have a DME and no way to tune NAV1

3) Added atc_type=Cessna so it's called right

4) Added atc_model=C170 so it's called right

5) Added atc_id=N2089V so it's called right

6) Added the needed radios in the aircraft.cfg

7) Added map and atc simicons

8) Fixed tail wheel contact point (tire was underground)

The prop texture is not right for FSX but I have not tried to fix it yet.
