inky160
All: Ref: C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG This command string is recommended often to locate the FSX.cfg file. I get as far as FSX but no .cfg file. Here's a snap shot of what I can see. Have I missed a setting somewhere? jandjfrench
Hi inky, I don't know why that happens. Okay, then right click on the folder and then click on "Open" Jim F.

inky160
Hi inky, I don't know why that happens. Okay, then right click on the folder and then click on "Open" Jim F. Thanks Jim et al: Right click on fsx doesn't do it. In fact, clicking on any (any) *.cfg file under FSX will act as an execute command and opens Flight Simulator X. Something else is going on that links a CFG file to an EXE file. Haven't seen this issue reported on the FSX forum that I can recall. jandjfrench
Hi again, I seem to recall a Windows setting someplace where a single mouse click could act as a double click. After I post I'll look around a bit. Jim
StringBean
Clicking on the FSX folder results in Flight Simulator X program opening as shown below. The contents of the fsx.cfg does not appear. You are not clicking on the folder, you are clicking on the FSX.cfg. Folders circled in red, FSX.cfg in green... Right-click on the FSX.cfg and "Open with..." Select Notepad and verify a check in "always open this file type..." You should be good to go. peace, the Bean WWOD---What Would Opa Do? Farewell, my freind (sp) Never argue with idiots. zswobbie1
Try a desktop search engine called 'everything' from http://www.voidtools.com. All you do it type fsx.cfg into the search window & it will find it for you. Then double click on it. it's a super quick way of finding files. Imagine, for a few minutes of forum time, I got all this information free of charge.
