flybynumbers
I am having a problem with a proflight instrument panel (pip) not functioning. Test 1. I plugged one pip device into a usb port in my computer. Result: the saitek splash screen appeared. 2. I plugged another pip device into the same usb port. Result: no saitek splash screen. 3. I swapped connecting cables between both pip devices. Result: It made no difference. 4. I plugged both pip devices into another computer. Result: Both pip devices displayed the saitek splash screen. Note: Both computers have Windows 7 64 bit installed...and both computers have the most recent drivers for the device downloaded from saitek. This test appears to rule out the pip device, driver, usb port or connecting cables causing the issue. Any ideas? 1000 fps at default settings! flybynumbers
Ok after a little more investigating I have found the solution. Basically Windows 7 was trying to install drivers everytime the device was connected. On the 2 that weren't working windows was failing at locating a driver and an error popup box would appear. So you need to turn off the automatic driver installation by windows. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2500967 1. Computer>>>devices & printers 2. right click>>>Select Device installation settings 3. turn off 4. Restart If that does not work then right click the device icon (Computer>>>devices & printers) and try updating the drivers. You can choose the driver location or let windows search for it...either way may work. Even if the device does not show connected immediately, try restarting your computer. 1000 fps at default settings!
