Glossary

These aviation terms generally have pointers to them in the various articles in this FAQ, in addition to the listing below. Should you notice an article which doesn't have one of these terms pointed to the first time it appears in the article, let me know either via my "talk" page here or via PM on the flightsim.com forums.

You can also search for the terms on Wikipedia in the search box at the left side of the page. Where the term may also be a non-aviation term, you may have to search for "stall (flight)" [without the quotes], or "Crab (disambiguation)" or else pay close attention to the top of the resulting page to see what other resources they offer you to find the proper aviation or flight term. A few terms may not be found at all in Wikipedia search.

Thanks,

Larry N.

Note: Many of the terms below have pointers to the relevant Wikipedia page, and a few have pointers to other online information.

Be aware that there is another Glossary on this site, as well. Although this glossary is primarily for terms used within the Flying Techniques and Real Aviation FAQ, the Glossary Of Terms (see navigation bar) covers a lot more ground, including a lot of flight simulator terms.
