/images/notams/notams20/orbx0920.jpgGaya Simulations welcomes you to Berlin-Tegel Airport. Located a short 10 kilometers by road from the center of Berlin,Tegel is a bustling urban hub - and it's this proximity whichattracted Gaya Simulations to include it as part of their flagshipscenery range. Blending with Microsoft Flight Simulator's excellent defaultcityscape, Gaya picked out Tegel with the city specifically inmind. The skyline includes all of the points of interest you've come toknow from the German capital - add to that a high quality custom modelof the Brandenburg Gate, which they've created, and you've got aninseparable pair. As always with Gaya Simulations airports, Berlin Tegel is designedfor best in-class immersion, detailing and performance. Their artists have spent months trawling through documents, imagesand other primary sources in order to create the most compelling andrealistic recreation of the airport on the market. The hub of the now defunct Air Berlin, Tegel is the perfect placeto perform some retro rotations - or if you're looking for somethingmore modern, perhaps try some Easyjet laps in the A320. /images/notams/notams20/gaya0723.jpgToday Gaya Simulations announces a new look for a new decade, with a new company logo. They've also been working on scenery forBerlin-Tegel Airport for a while now and today report it as"coming soon". Gaya Statement On Microsoft Flight Simulatorwe've received a bunch of questions regarding our positon withFlight Simulator 2020 and its imminent release. Firstly, we'd like tocongratulate the team at Microsoft & Asobo for all of the work they'vedone to product such a wonderful simulator for all to enjoy. Secondly, we're pleased to unveil that ALL Gaya content will bemaking the jump to the new simulator. In fact, two of our three newest sceneries - Berlin-Tegel andFlorence - were chosen because of their proximity to great 3Drenditions of cityscapes in FS2020. As with our previous products, each will be developed natively for Flight Simulator, no conversions, nothing. That begs the question: what happens to Prepar3D and X-Plane in ournew roadmap? Nothing. We're a multiplatform developer with 40+employees - we have the capacity to continue making airports for allthree simulators and then some. Here's to the future of flight simulation, whichever the platformmay be. Source

Berlin Tegel ProfessionalPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: MrYorkiesWorldSuggested Price: $28.95/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin01.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin02.jpgIntroductionBerlin has always been a place thatI've wanted to travel to in real life. The culture, the food, thescenery, its history, it's all there to be experienced! Unfortunately,at the moment, I'm having to settle for a virtual tour of thisbeautiful city due to the fact that my real life is so busy atpresent! Hopefully, one day though, the 'MrYorkiesWorld' clan, willget to visit this stunning location for real! Up until a few weeks ago, I'd only really had the pleasure ofvisitingFrankfurtin P3D V4 (also by Aerosoft), but I'm excited to say that thanks to myfriends over at FlightSim.Com, I can now visit Aerosoft's version ofBerlin too, and I'm excited to be writing a review of this fantasticand very detailed piece of scenery for P3D V4. /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin03.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin04.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin15.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin16.jpgAs ever, I like to keep my reviews relatively short and to thepoint! However, unlike my previous reviews, I will not be including avideo. Instead I have decided to use a series of screen shots, which Ihope you will enjoy. With that said...let's get straight into it. Coverage Area, Detail And TexturesSo let's talk about scenery coverage. Upon first glance, it wasquite clear to see that the package included some surrounding areasaround the main Berlin Tegel Airport. The ground textures looked good, but were not perfect. I tend to use Orbx FTX Global, Vector and OpenLCEurope (although I don't currently have them installed in the sim),and these do help a little, but I still noticed some things were alittle blurry. The scenery also seems to have different types of textures comparedto those of Orbx. This is expected with most sceneries, however I didnotice that you can sort of make out pretty clearly the "lines" whereOrbx ends, and Aerosoft begins. I assume this could be worked on atsome point by the developer and possibly added as a fix of some kind, but this can, of course also depend on what other scenery packagespeople are using, and whether or not they are using Orbx productsetc. /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin05.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin06.jpgWhen it comes to textures, the actual airport itself boasts somereally nice, high-resolution textures throughout. The runways andtaxiways looked great, and the terminal buildings and jetways alsolooked stunning. These tend to look equally as nice in the daytime asthey do at night, and other products such as Chris Bell's Black Marblehelp to bring things together even more and make things lookamazing. An important factor to take into account, is that this scenery alsocomes with a pretty accurate AFCAD, but this can be improved on quitea bit with the help of a quick download from the Aerosoft Forums, andincludes more parking spots, etc. Performance And CompatibilitySo as expected from the title of this scenery, Aerosoft BerlinTegel Professional is specifically designed for Prepar3D V4. I'm not sureif this would work with any previous version of P3D because theproduct pageclearly doesn't state any other compatibility possibilities other thanP3D V4. /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin07.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin08.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin17.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin18.jpgMoving on to performance, and I have to say, I didn't really noticeany kind of performance drop. Even with quite a lot of traffic, andheavy clouds, frame rates stayed at a respectable level. However, Ihave heard that some users have experienced issues with frame rates, but on my system, running the latest version of the sceneryeverything was smooth. For reference, my system is as follows: IntelCore i9 9900k, a GTX 1080TI, and 6GB of RAM. Considering the size ofthe scenery, I was very pleased with the performance. Configuration ToolAerosoft (as with many of their recent sceneries) have included arather handy configuration tool for Berlin. This tool allows you toturn certain things 'on or off' in the scenery, such as staticvehicles, dynamic lighting effects, highway traffic, etc. /images/reviews/berltege/config.jpgIt's very easy to select the options you want and then save themwith just a few clicks. You can customize things exactly how you wantthem to be, including the option to enable or disable the PhotorealArea of the airport and some of the surrounding areas. A great ideaand something which will benefit those users will low end hardware. Features ListSo as ever, Aerosoft like to keep us in the know about whatfeatures they've included in their products before we purchase them, and the product page for this scenery gives a whole host ofinteresting features: AFD optimised, frequencies and approaches adapted based on recent chartsJetways are now movable via CTRL+JReworked ground layoutBuildings and objects optimised for Prepar3D V4 for increased performanceImproved lighting and added dynamic lightsRunway and taxiway lights compiled into one object, added day switches and corrected Mat and Ani (Flashes)Corrected parking positionsFixed terrain errorsOptimised AGNIS, lighter and more preciseOptimised AESLite for P3D V4 (shadow support, etc.)Extended Config tool "EDDT Traffic" /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin09.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin10.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin19.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin20.jpgSystem RequirementsNow onto the boring parts. For those of you who are interested inthe system specifics, Aerosoft have kindly listed these as well: Lockheed Martin - Prepar3D V4 Windows 10 (64 bit) CPU: Quad Core with 3.5 GHz RAM: 16 GB DDR4 RAM (2666 MHz) Graphics card: 4 GB VRAM, DirectX 11Disk space: 2.5 GB free disk spaceDownload size: 1.5 GB /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin11.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin12.jpgOverview / RatingSo it's time for the final verdict, and I have to say I wasimpressed with most parts of this product. The scenery is verydetailed, looks great and feels immersive, but some of the texturescould do with being improved on. Overall, I'm going to award this scenery a healthy 9 out of 10,with the only real downside being the above mentioned textures. /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin13.jpg /images/reviews/berltege/t/aerosoft-mega-airport-berlin14.jpg/images/reviews/berltege/banner.jpgMrYorkiesWorld MrYorkiesWorld Youtube Channel Purchase Aerosoft Berlin-Tegel Professional
