/images/notams/notams22/dino0902.jpgJust a quick post to let you know that we have recently released toour testers the Beta 2 build of our Leonardo M-346 project forMicrosoft Flight Simulator. There are still a few bugs we need to address, but the qualitylevel is now much closer to what we want to achieve. Rest assured that we are also working on continuous improvement forall of our project and we are working hard to complete the final buildof the MB-339 for DCS: we will provide a comprehensive update of allof our projects in a dedicate post soon. /images/notams/notams22/ift0811.jpgWith apologies for the long delay, here are some news on our M-346MASTER project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We have completed the Beta 1 stage logging no less than 116 ChangeRequests, and we are working towards a new Beta release (currenly wehave addressed approximately 30% of the issues). It shall be noted that we had M-346 pilots, instructors andengineers in the Beta test team and most of the CR's are actuallyminor details you would probably expect from a professional simulator, rather than from a recreational one... we will try to implementwhatever makes sense for MSFS. Here are the FAQs for the M-346: Do You Have A Release Date?We expect a Beta 2 build to be ready in a couple of weeks...and weexpect it to be close to the quality level we'd like for therelease. However, given that SU10 is around the corner, it makes nosense for us to release it before the sim update is deployed... so notsooner than the end of August. What Will Be The Level Of Fidelity? We have quite positive feeback from aircrews and we are trying toadd as much detail as practical. We do not like talking too much aboutrealism "levels", but we expect the user to be able to follow at least95% of the real-world check list - although some systems will not besimulated in detail. Will It Be Availabe On Xbox Too?We believe our current build is NOT compatible with the XBox,mostly due to the complex avionics and no less than 2 sets of 8Ktextures for the external model. So we expect that the M-346 WILL NOT be available on XBox atlaunch, but we will try to bring it to the consoles much like we didfor the F-35. What Liveries Will Be Included? We have currently 10 liveries, but we may add more before release: Italian Air ForceItalian Air Force special colorSingapore Air ForceSingapore Air Force special colorPolish Air ForceIsraeli Air ForceTurkmen Air ForceFactory PrimerFactory FA camoInternational Flight SchoolSource

/images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-1.jpgAs we have not provided updates on our other projects in a while, here is a quick summary of where we are: T-45C GoshawkWe have decided to invest some time to learn how to make a decentHUD in HTML5+JavaScript (as opposed to the legacy XML code). The mainreason for this is better readability with different graphic settingsand portability to XBox - also, it is a technology that will be usefulfor the F-35 and M-346. We have also implemented Sim Update V cockpit interaction model andwe will have flight model and avionics improvements. We HOPE torelease this shortly, but as usual no shortcuts: it is done when it isdone. /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-3.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-4.jpgAermacchi M-346We are remaking a few 3D parts as we thought they were not goodenough by our current standards. Apart from that, external textureshave been remastered to 8K and cockpit rebuild/retexturing iscomplete. We will also redo the HUD with HTML5/Javascript. Bestestimate for a beta is end of October. Sukhoi SU-31This project is moving forward...but not as quickly as wewant. Most of the modeling/avionics/cockpit interaction bugs have beensolved, Sim Update V cockpit model has been implemented and flightmodel has been refined...but it is not yet satisfactory. We do not have a release date for it at the moment. Also, we have been receiving a lot of messages about our futureprojects: at the moment we have nothing to announce BUT of course weare considering remaking our older planes (if we made them it isbecause we love them), but our focus is to try our best to deliverquality projects and this will be the driving factor of our futurechoices. /images/notams/notams21/dino0615/dino-1.jpgTime for an update on the M-346 for Microsoft Flight Simulator... As promised, we are trying to make the best use of MSFS graphicengine therefore we have decide to rework the cockpit with completelynew textures and improved details. Also, we have been remastering theexternal textures in 8K so that they look much sharper on closer views- and we are completely remaking some details like the main landinggear (not yet shown in the pictures). In terms of system simulation, it will be very close to our P3DM-346, although it will have simpler TSD screen and there will be somemissing functionalities (like the RWR radar and the HMD). /images/notams/notams21/dino0615/dino-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0615/dino-3.jpgWe do not have a release date, but the project is moving forwardquite quickly... so may be it is not as far as we initiallyplanned. /images/notams/notams20/dino0917.jpgI am happy to report that recently released Microsoft FlightSimulator patch (1.8.3.0) has solved all the loading problems withcomplex XML gauges... this means that the M-346 for MSFS developmentcan continue and the plane will definitely come to the new sim. This also unlocks the possibility of working on the F-35, theEurofighter and the F-14D...although, on those planes, I still need todo some testing to see if the problems with supersonic flight dynamicsare still there. Aside, please beware that Microsoft DOES NOT allow models withweapons on the marketplace. So, the choice I have to make is eitherhave a larger customer base (by removing the weapon models) or havethe weapons and sell only through external distributors. This will notaffect the MB-339 "Lite" which will be unarmed in any case (more newssoon)... Also, please note that at the moment, in any case, weapons arecosmetic only.
