/images/notams/notams20/lukl0118/lukl0118.jpgGateway to Mount Everest and World's Most Dangerous Airport;certainly the most commonly used attributes for an airport that seemsout of this world. But it's not only about Lukla; there's much more tothis package... Truth to be told: There are airports that are higher (see Tingriincluded in this package). There may be airports that have a shorterrunway. There even may be airstrips somewhere that have an even worseupwards slope of the runway. Or others that have a mountain wall atthe end of its runway. What makes Lukla standing out is a combinationof all those factors in one single airport! /images/notams/notams20/lukl0118/lukla-1.jpgNot enough thrill for you? Count in weather as a factor. Nonavigational aids. Limited documentation of approach and takeoffroutes. An uncontrolled airpace with fixed wing aircraft andhelicopters. This package will replace "Lukla X – Mount Everest" by the samelead developer. One of our most popular sceneries of the past decadethat has won many awards – among them the Simflight Award. This newversion is a completely new development setting the bar even higheragain, coming with much more content than the previous version. /images/notams/notams20/lukl0118/lukla-2.jpgFeatures5 high detail airports with all buildings and clutter objects like vegetation, people, animals, vehicles and more:VNLK Lukla VNSB Syangboche VNPL Phaplu VNKL Kangel Danda VNRT Rumjatar7 generic airports with details like tower positions, ground layout and thrilling hand edited terrain:VNKD Man Maya Khanidanda VNBJ Bhojpur VNTR Tumlingtar VNRC Ramechhap VNJI Jiri VNTJ Taplejung Suketar VNLD LamidandaMany helipads, most of them in very high altitudes A whopping coverage area of 200x200 kilometers Detailed hand edited mesh terrain More than 366 thousand autogen buildings More than 60 million (!) individually placed trees in their respective vegetation areas (e.g. shrubs in the alpine areas, tropical trees in the valley rain forests) A hand edited and georeferenced combination of satellite imagery with higher resolutions around the core areas (see maps). It is located just above thevillage of Namche Bazar, a mandatory stop for hikers to the Everestbase camp.7 Helipads: inserted in the most important points of the scenery, normally located in residential areas, scattered at various pointsalong the route to the base camp. /images/notams/notams18/ever1202/everest-3.jpgUltra-High Definition Scenery PackThe main mountains of the area have been rebuilt with 3D models. DEM data was used and further corrected with 3D graphics programs. Later the textures were applied, mostly in 4K, taken from high definition photos. The positioning on the modified mesh was very accurate, respecting the dimensions and the main morphological characteristics of the terrain.\Summer only sceneryManual includedPurchase Everest Park 3D

/images/notams/notams18/ever0829/everest-1.jpgLast monthwe posted a preview of the work by Frank Dainese and Fabio Bellini onEverest Park 3D. Airports in the region are a realchallenge and today they've shown some work in progress on the famousLukla airport: Thanks to Fabio's work on the mesh, we have improved the RunwayLukla. One of the most difficult tracks for any driver, but for us asdevelopers was a problem finding the correct solution. The grade change has been corrected and shifted to the level of theapron, was also modeled an "end run" in 3D to give the right distanceis just over 500 meters. Cone normal mesh this was not possible. Here are two screen shots of runway 24/06 at Lukla as it looks afterthe correction. Plus a little video take-off of the Baron 58 from LuklaAirport. /images/notams/notams18/ever0920/lukla-1.jpg /images/notams/notams18/ever0920/lukla-2.jpg Source
