We have had many new and excitingreleases during 2018, with some very interesting and 'different'releases. We have seen a lot of changes within our hobby during 2018, withnew flight simulations being released, as well as being withdrawn fromrelease, but FS2004 has held its head up high, in spite of its age. To remind us all of our hobby and the fun we had during 2018, I'vecompiled a list representing, in my opinion, some very worthy add-onsfor FS2004. TheNieuport 28, developed in France, went in service in March 1918. Shewas supposed for French and American air troops. Finally Francefavorized the Spad XIII while US forces took the Nieport 28 as itsfighter. The plane was equpped with a rotary engine and reached almost200 kmh. FSDS 3.5 model by Erwin Welker. That strange concept was proposed toenlarge the range of a long distance postal airplane to cross theAtlantic with a non-stop flight. The flying boat Short S.21 wasderived from the Short S.23 Empire with the task to go airborne and toreach altitude carrying the floatplane on its back. The Short S.20Mercury was a light 4-engine floatplane with long distanceabilities. After separation it reached after 4600 km Montreal in 20.5hours with 272 kg payload in July 1938. In October 1938 the Mercury(without payload) mastered a world record by starting from Scotlandand reaching South Africa after 9726 km in 42 hours. The original S.23FS2004 model and also the FSX interior, the 2D panel, FDE and texturesare made by Jens B. Kristensen. Panel improvements are done by MichaelPook. There-upload consists of the original Flamingo package released by CraigRichardson, as found in an obscure web site written in Spanish aboutthe history of the airplane. I felt the need to re-upload it (aspermitted by the original author's release notes), since it is prettymuch the only original model by Craig that can't be found in any FSlibrary! I have combined from different paths on flightsim to make thisthe Ultimate PA-34 Seneca. It has a fully functioning glasscockpit. GNS430 and GNS530. FMC and WAAS. You cannot get lost in thisaircraft. All buttons work and I have modified the aircraft.cfg forperformance, fuel flow and handling. I do not take credit for thisaircraft or the gauges. I simply combined them into a panel and madeit as I wanted it to be. I used to fly the PA-34 and it was not likethis one. Thefinal passenger services were operated by G-BZHA, which departedHeathrow at 12:20 on 25 November 2018 operating as BA662 to Larnaca,Cyprus and arrived back in London as BA663 at 22:25. The package contains four models: A)Bond's streetcar with a rocket launcher - B) Same model but pursued bya Bell Jetranger helicopter - C) Bond's transformer version whichconverts under water from a car to a submarine. The underwatersurrounding is included, you do not need any special scenery, and itworks in all four simulators. This version is hardly for driving orsailing - it is just for fun and comes with incredible animations! Youwill see dolphins and you can attack a mini submarine of theenemies. At the end of WW2 over 8500 twin engineAirspeed Oxfords had been built, many of which were little used and ingood condition. Airspeed decided to buy some back and converted 162into a civilian short range feeder aircraft with seating for a maximumof six passengers. These filled an early post war gap and were takenup by numerous small start-up airlines mainly in the UK. This model isbuilt for FS2004 but performs quite well in FSX. By DavidMolyneaux. The Airspeed Envoy 6 - 8 passenger twinfollowed from the design of the simpler Courier. It was faster andoffered more comfort for the passengers. This model representsthe MK2 Envoy fitted with Armstrong Siddeley Lynx IVC engines. It isbuilt primarily for FS2004 but will fly equally well in FSX with a fewlimitations (see the Readme1st file). BellaCoola is in one of the deep east-west fjords amid the Coastal Range onthe coast of BC, approximately mid way between Vancouver and theAlaskan border, and some 70 miles inland from the open ocean. The townof Bella Coola has a small population of around 150, while thepopulation of the whole Bella Coola Valley is around 2,000. Warmer inboth summer and winter than the surrounding area, tourism flourishesalong with forestry, fishing, and local governmentadministration. Although there is road access, the ferry service isthe main connection to larger coastal towns or cities such asVancouver. The airport, 7 miles east of the town, is connected bydaily Pacific Coastal flights to Vancouver and Anahim Lake (to theeast). The asphalt runway is 4,200 feet long and aligned 04-22 in FS9(by 2010 this had changed to 05-23 in reality) and is without lightingof any sort, so it is restricted to daylight hours only. At theeastern end is the terminal building and in the middle the West CoastHelicopter hangar, which has a large fenced paddock-like enclosure infront of it. The helicopters hop over the three feet high fence asthey "taxi" to the apron in front of the hanger. Between the two thereare four other company hangars spread out along the roadway beside thefence. The screen shots and the video show the main and overwhelmingfeature of Bella Coola, the large valley amid the steepmountains. This terrain has an inevitable effect on the ai, in thatyou will never see a plane land as it hits solid rock before it makesit to the runway. You will, however, see them take off. PacificCoastal currently flies Beechcraft 1900's to Bella Coola; I have usedthe Saab 340 which I have seen there some years ago and which Iprefer. By Roger Wensley. TheMilitary Base is at the northernmost tip of Flinders Island - just offTasmania. It has two major runways with lots of parking for militaryaircraft of all sizes. The scenery has some fun challenges such as avalley leading into Runway 19 and a high bridge off the otherend. Camp Thatcher supports comprehensive AI traffic with over 70aircraft parked throughout; a majority of them are parked inside ofhangars and come out for their sortie twice a day. On an Island justoffshore is a small, tight pylon racing track - and just off the endof Runway 19 is a set of very large pylons for racing at highspeed. This scenery package contains some of the AI aircraft, however,the AI aircraft from the Transload Carriers pack is also used (andrequired), if you wish ALL the AI aircraft to show up. FlightSim.Com Best Of 2018 Awards 2018 was an exciting year for flight simulation, with developers across the board, setting new standards on what was both possible and achievable. Airports, both large and small were recreated in stunning detail, and aircraft, those well known and those of a slightly more obscure nature, were brought to life for a wide variety of simulator platforms. Choosing what constitutes the 'best of' is extremely difficult and subjective; the reason being, we all have our own idea of what is...best. However, never to shy away from a task (and perhaps even controversy), the team at FlightSim.Com, would like to present a list of add-ons which we feel represent some of the best of 2018. Best FSX/P3D GA Aircraft Just Flight - Stinson L-5 Nigel Porter wrote in his review: "It is both fun to fly, and challenging to get right, and will give hours of enjoyment...
