During twelvehours of coverage the event typically draws a thousand pilots flying avariety of routes. Cross the Pond is back for the next iteration - departing early inthe North American morning and touching down in Europe ready for aHalloween party. As the evening gets underway we look forward towelcoming several hundred of you to fly transatlantic on Saturday 30October 2021. We have already begun to assemble our largest team ever. We lookforward to involving all five Oceanic FIRs as well as aviationspecialists to explain oceanic procedures, a technical team to bringmore functionality and of course our regional and division airspaceexperts who will help us route you to your destination. Over the course of the next months, we will be continuing to informyou through the process of selecting airfields, picking a slot and ofcourse flying across the ocean together with hundreds of fellow VATSIMmembers. We use a staggered approach toopen slots releasing a few more every 30 minutes for 2 hours. The schedule is as follows: 1800Z - MCO/ORD Slots Open 1830Z - MIA Slots Open 1900Z - YYZ/BOS Slots Open 1930Z - JFK Slots Open As this will be the first Cross the Pond using the new Audio forVATSIM infrastructure we would like as many people as possible, bothcurrent members and non members, to join up and take a slot! www.vatsim.net

The eastbound edition sees pilots depart a selection ofairports in North America and fly transatlantic to Europeandestinations. Full ATC, including Oceanic, is provided throughout. Allour recent connection records have been broken during Cross The Pond,making it VATSIM's busiest regular event. Departure slots will be available between 1100z and 1500z from thefollowing airports: John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK/KJFK)Logan International Airport (BOS/KBOS)Denver International Airport (DEN/KDEN)*Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ/CYYZ)Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD/KIAD)* Departures slots from Denver will run from 1000z to 1300z dueto the increased distance. We will be landing aircraft across the evening in Europe at thefollowing airports: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS/EHAM)Frankfurt Airport (FRA/EDDF)Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC)Zurich Airport (ZRH/LSZH)We're excited to welcome a new airfield to this event, givingpilots opportunities to partake in this event in a new and hopefullyenjoyable way. Over 500 slots will be made available, with bookingsopening on Saturday 20th October at 1700z at the new Cross The Pondweb site.
