  1. /images/notams/notams22/lemh.jpgMenorca Airport (IATA code: MAH, ICAO code: LEMH) on the island of Menorca is one of three international commercial airports on the Balearic Islands, along with Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza. With Menorca for Microsoft Flight Simulator, sim-wings implements the airport in high detail. High-resolution aerial photographs form the basis for extremely detailed airport buildings and an up-to-date ground layout. Additional details include functional VDGS docking systems with Aerosoft VDGS modules and PBR materials for realistic surfaces and glass. Detailed animated jetway models, static vehicles and objects and realistic dynamic lighting for the night top off this scenery. 2. /images/notams/notams22/anch0603.jpg About Sim-Wings AnchorageAnchorage Ted Stevens International (PANC) is the most important airport in Alaska and a destination of many national and international connections. It is a hub for Alaska Airlines and an important cargo airport located conveniently between the USA and Asia. In this great state roads are scarce and limited to the major cities. The vast wilderness can only be reached by aircraft, often only by floatplane or small aircraft equipped for off-airport landings. And Anchorage International Airport ‘Ted Stevens’ is at the center of much of this aviation. Add the violent weather and the long hours of darkness in the winter and you end up with an airport that is in every way remarkable and well worth a superb rendering for Flight Simulator. 3. /images/notams/notams22/anch0603.jpgAnchorage Ted Stevens International (PANC) is the most important airport in Alaska and a destination of many national and international connections. Sim-Wings Anchorage ProPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: Alex DickinsonSuggested Price: $29.95/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-01.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-02.jpgIntroductionTed Stevens Anchorage InternationalAirport is a major airport in the U.S. state of Alaska, located 5miles southwest of downtown Anchorage. The airport is named for TedStevens, a U.S. senator from Alaska in office from 1968 to 2009. Built in 1951, the airport was served in the 1950s by AlaskaAirlines, Northwest Orient, Pacific Northern Airlines and ReeveAleutian Airways, using aircraft ranging from Douglas DC-3s to Boeing377s, and was also a refuelling stop for Canadian Pacific Air Linesservice to the Far East. From 1955 to 2011, the eastern end of theairport's southernmost runway connected to the Kulis Air NationalGuard Base. By the mid-1980s the airport's nickname was "Crossroads of theWorld". Anchorage was a common stopover for passengers flying betweenEurope and East Asia, because airspace in China, the Soviet Union andEastern Bloc countries were off-limits and because the firstgeneration of jets and widebody airliners did not have the range tofly non-stop across the Pacific Ocean. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport was briefly the busiestin the United States due to sustained volume of cargo flights throughAlaska while passenger travel sharply decreased in other Americanairports. /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-03.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-04.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-05.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-06.jpgFlying around Alaska and taking in the incredible scenery issomething I really enjoy doing in P3D. One of the reasons being isthat due to its vastness, it can make you feel small, especially withits impressive mountain ranges and vast open landscapes. AirportMy first stop was the two main terminal buildings at theairport. The South Terminal (domestic) serves Air Canada, AlaskaAirlines, Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Condor, Delta Air Lines,Frontier Airlines, Sun Country, and United Airlines. All regionalintrastate carriers also use the South Terminal. The South terminalcontains three concourses: Concourse A, Concourse B, and ConcourseC. The area of what is today Concourse C is where the original airportterminal from the 1950s was located. The North Terminal (international) serves Condor, Japan Airlines,Korean Air, Yakutia Airlines, all international seasonal charterflights, and military flights. Both terminals were modelled well and displayed the correct scaleand proportions. However, compared to other sceneries created bySim-Wings, I thought the textures weren't quite up to their normalstandards. Along with the main terminal buildings, this section of theairport also contained numerous maintenance facilities and supportbuildings. These also included ground clutter in appropriate areas, thus providing a busy bustling feel to the airport. /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-07.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-08.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-09.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-10.jpgJet bridges are included, but I found the quality of them to berather poor in quality. SODE jet bridges are available, and despitenot actually using them, I would recommend these over the defaultversions. Cargo OperationsAs mentioned in the introduction, cargo traffic plays an importantpart at Ted Stevens, so it's no wonder that you have the likes of DHL,UPS, FedEx, and more stationed here. Numerous smaller buildings arealso located in this area, and whilst these still displayed the samestandard of texturing as the main terminals, I found them to beaccurately placed and well modelled. Lake HoodNext door to the main airport is Lake Hood, an extremely largegeneral aviation complex. I have to say this location was a realsurprise, as I didn't expect Sim-Wings to go into so much detail here. There were so many buildings located in this section of thescenery, along with an abundant array of static aircraft. Yes, a lotof them do look quite basic, but taken as a whole, this area of thescenery is incredibly atmospheric. Another great feature is that the lake is actually frozen duringthe winter months, so you won't be able to use your floatplane. However, during the summer, the lake returns to water, and youcan...highly realistic and something I really appreciated! /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-11.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-12.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-13.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-14.jpgTaxiways, Ramps And Runway TexturesBoth runways and taxiways have been modelled accurately and withgreat care. The concrete textures especially are worthy of highpraise. Not only were the textures clear when viewed close up, butthey also showed signs of weathering (rubber marks, cracks, etc.). The same quality and accuracy was visible in the ramp areas, with alot of the stands having a white texture around them. Airport signageand markings were also done to a good standard and again, accuratelyplaced. Night LightingThe lighting effects at Ted Stevens were excellent. Runways andtaxiways are lit to great effect as are the numerous hangars andmaintenance facilities. Flying into the airport at night is reallyquite something. DocumentationAs well as the usual English/German installation guide typical ofAerosoft products, there are also charts which can be viewed online. PerformanceConsidering the number of objects used in the scenery, performancewas outstanding. I've had the pleasure of using sceneries by Sim-Wingsin the past and they have always performed well, and Ted Stevens is noexception. Total VRAM usage when running on my preferred graphicssettings was a mere 2.6 GB, with frame rates holding steady at a locked30 FPS. /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-15.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-16.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-17.jpg /images/reviews/anchpro/t/aerosoft-anchorage-pro-18.jpgConclusionIn summing up, I have to say that I enjoyed my time at Ted Stevens, even more so at Lake Hood. The main airport is well laid out with goodmodelling of the terminal buildings and associated maintenancefacilities. The only downside was the quality of the textures used, asthey felt more akin to FSX than P3D. If you're happy to live withthat, then I think you'll really enjoy the scenery. However, ifyou're looking for photorealism, then you'll probably going to comeaway disappointed. At the end of the day, Aerosoft's Ted Stevensmakes for a great starting point in which to explore Alaska. All youhave to do is decide on which direction to go... /images/reviews/anchpro/title3.jpgAlex Dickinson Purchase Aerosoft - Anchorage Pro for Prepar3D See other Sim-wings scenery for Prepar3D

  7. Sim-wings Pro HamburgPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: Alex DickinsonSuggested Price: $29.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-01.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-02.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-03.jpgIntroductionHello everyone! In this review I shallbe looking at Aerosoft's/ Sim-Wings Hamburg. I have had my eyes onthis product for a while now, and I am very excited to try itout. Hamburg is the 5th largest airport in Germany, serving over 17million passengers in 2019. It's known for its iconic terminal design, which has even been replicated by modellers at the cities 'MiniaturWunderland'. So, with that said, let's see what this scenery lookslike in P3D V5.3. Installation And ConfiguratorThe installation procedure was a quick and simple process. As pernormal with Aerosoft products, a simple installer is run, and then theproduct activated via an internet connection. After the installation process is complete, the configurator willthen open. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the number ofcustomisable options available for this product. I particularly likedthe option to control the intensity of the runway lights. Overall,it's the small touches like these that I really appreciate, as ittruly makes the product feel like your own. If you find yourself at a loose end with the installation process, help is on hand with the included manual. This contains instructionsto install/uninstall the scenery, as well as recommended settings. /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-18.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-19.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-06.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-07.jpgMain TerminalHamburg as I have already mentioned, has a very distinctiveterminal design, but did you know that the building is actually twoterminals instead of one? The terminal in this add-on has been fabulously crafted bySim-Wings, and really is a work of art. It features PBR andhigh-quality textures throughout the entire building and it looksfantastic. What makes the airport stand-out even further is the use oftransparent glass; I haven't seen any other airport scenery use thismuch of it before. The result of this, is that the amount of detailpresent, is simply astonishing, and adds another level of life andrealism to the airport. Apron AreasMoving on to the apron areas, and it was nice to see that these toowere very well modelled. They include plenty of ground clutter, plusaccurately placed stand markings. The developers even got the dockingsystem spot on as well. However, I felt slightly disappointed in that'SODE' had not been used for the Jetbridges, instead it was thedefault 'CTRL - J' ones. However, there is a silver lining though, asit is possible to download a SODE file, available at:http://www.sim-wings.de/SUPPORT_SODE.htm /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-08.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-09.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-10.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-11.jpgGeneral Aviation Area And HangarsHeading over to the western side of the airport, and you will finda huge general aviation ramp, just like the real airport. All the stands were present, just like its commercial counterpart, and they were well modelled with accurate stand markings. Texturingtoo was good, with the whole area looking highly authentic. Unlike thecommercial stands, there was hardly any ground clutter, which again,is just like the real airport, so well done to the developers forspotting this! Another key part of this area was what looks to be a terminalbuilding located next to runway 15/33. At first glance, I thought thiswas a separate commercial terminal building, however after scouringthe internet, I am still none the wiser to its use. If someone couldpossibly enlighten me, I would appreciate it. RunwaysHamburg features a cross-runway layout to take into account thevarying wind patterns seen within the area. Each runway was accuratelymodelled in regards to length, and featured the correct texturing. /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-12.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-13.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-14.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-15.jpgThe texture work done here by the developers, must really becongratulated on, as Hamburg uses different materials when it comes toits runways. It would have been easy to just use a carpet approach anduse a single texture, but they decided to take the harder route. Even the smallest details are present, such as the build-up ofrubber marks from aircraft tires, to the slight fading of paintworkfor the various markings. The result is a highly authentic experiencewhen navigating around the taxiways and runways of the airport. HangarsI always knew that Lufthansa Technik had a base at Hamburg, howeverafter using this product, I was blown away by how large theiroperations were. Along the entire southern edge of the airport, there are vastnumbers of hangars, with most being operated by Lufthansa'sTechnik. The sheer number of these hangars and their enormous sizemade me feel quite small, and just as in real life, the airportskyline is dominated by these buildings. Yet again some greatmodelling work has been carried out, with good use of PBR textures and3D effects, in particular on the supportive column structures. Unfortunately, this was one part of the scenery which I felt couldhave done with a bit more life. Despite the inclusion of a 747-8 inwhat appears to be a run-up bay, there was just a sense ofemptiness. Perhaps the developers could look at adding a few openhangars to help with this, or maybe even some static aircraft? /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-16.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-17.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-04.jpg /images/reviews/hamburg/t/simwings-hamburg-p3d-05.jpgNight LightingI was very impressed with the night lighting, especially as one ofthe options featured, allowed you to control the intensity of therunway lights. Across the entire airport, night lighting was used togreat effect, even in the remote areas of the airport. PerformanceSince moving over to P3D V5.3, I have witnessed an enjoyableperformance boost on my system, so I was interested to see how Hamburgwould perform. I needn't have worried, as even with my limited 6GBGPU, I had no issues whatsoever. Everything ran extremely smoothly, with usage hovering around 4 to 4.4 GB of VRAM. ConclusionIn summing up, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time atHamburg, it was fantastic. The attention to detail was spot on, withgreat detailing on show throughout the airport. Not only this, but Ifound the performance of the scenery to be excellent, especially whenyou factor in the amount of detail on offer. If I had to have a topten of products, then this add-on would be included. If you enjoy flying around Germany in P3D, then Sim-Wings Hamburgis a must have! /images/reviews/hamburg/title3.jpgAlex Dickinson Purchase Aerosoft - Sim-wings pro Hamburg for P3D v4/v5 See other Sim-wings scenery for Prepar3D

The small Spanish islands in themiddle of the Atlantic offer a quiet and hot spot to enjoy a few daysoff work. The south island is connected to the world throughAeropuerto de Tenerife Sur "Reina Sofia", which opened in 1978 and nowserves over 12 million passengers a year. While many of us may not be able to travel to Tenerife this year,sim-wings offers us the airport for Microsoft FlightSimulator. sim-wings are a well-respected scenery developer acrossFSX, P3D and MSFS and today we take a close look at their rendition ofthis airport and what it brings to the simulator world. Where Is It?Reina Sofia is located in Granadilla de Abona, south of TenerifeIsland. While not sitting directly on the coast, it's a short walkfrom it and sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the peak of Teide andMontana Colorada. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-03.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-04.jpgThe climate here is very warm throughout the year, lying in thereaches of the Western Sahara, but can sometimes snow on higher groundduring winter. The region is also host to several wind farms thatpower the majority of the island, with one of the largest being foundon the easterly approach of the airport. InstallationInstallation of sim-wings Tenerife Sur is very simple through theFlightSim.Com Store. You receive an installer download and anactivation key for the add-on. Run the installer, point it to thedirection of your simulator 'Community' folder, input your key and therest is automated. Once the scenery has been downloaded, you are then given a pop-upwhere the add-on offers to install a local copy of NavDataPro withTenerife charts included for free. It's a nice feature that I highlyrecommend installing to give you a little extra technical informationabout the airport and its facilities. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-05.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-06.jpgStructures And FacilitiesTenerife-Sur features one main terminal as well as the newextension partially constructed. It also includes a cargo terminal andservice stands to the east, as well as a populated airport car park. One thing that sim-wings like to incorporate is a fully modelledsection of the terminal interior for you to look at when on theground. In Tenerife-Sur this is the departure gates and this looksfantastic! Each gate features a boarding desk and benches, as well asgate signage through the airport that correspond to their correctlocations. There are also a few models of people which appear to be 3Dscans (presumably the developers themselves) that populate the airportand look very realistic. While 3D scanning may not be the newesttechnology, some phones now incorporate this and I believe this may bethe first time it's been incorporated into a flight simulator scenery. As we continue east along the terminal, we come across the cargoterminal which has been modelled to a very high degree of detail, withground service vehicles that surround the local parking spaces, all inIberia colors. While these themselves may be static, this doesn'tstop the use of the default ground service vehicles, which arecarefully positioned and don't get in the way. Jet bridges are alsocustom and work with the default simulator ground services, giving youfull functionality when at the airport. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-11.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-12.jpgFurther along, the airport has a small medical and operationstation complete with a parked helicopter and Civil Guardvehicle. This sits inside a small cutting in a hill with directtaxiway access to the airport. This shows a good level of where theground mesh has been modified to fit the needs of the scenery, and howbuildings interact with the ground it surrounds. There is a lot to look at in this scenery, certainly enough to keepyou coming back for more! Ground LayoutThis airport features a single runway as well as a long series ofgates and stands for aircraft to park at. The airport layout is simplewith one main taxiway parallel to the runway which leads onto a thirdtaxiway surrounded by gates. To the east of the terminal, you can findthe ground service area with vehicles parked and waiting to be used. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-13.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-14.jpgThe runway, taxiway and stands all use custom high-resolutiontextures that look fantastic in the simulator world. As you enterRunway 07, the two entry points are separated with thick yellowmarkings to ensure that spacing is kept between both, with the morerecent B0 differentiated with newer, lighter concrete that sitsdirectly next to it. The opposite end Runway 26 B6 and B7 areseparated by a wide, light blue concrete floor. All of this givespilots maximum visibility and clarity of the ground. Navigation of theairport is also easy thanks to the readability and clarity of the taxisigns, allowing you to find your way in and out of the airport, especially useful on online networks. As you leave the airport through one of the access roads, theground immediately around the airport has also been massively improvedwith bus stops and car parks being modelled and populated. Trees alsocover the airport and surrounding area, hand-placed by the developersto bring the airport to life. The ground always plays a big part in any scenery add-on, andsim-wings have excelled in this with their recreation of Tenerife-Sur. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-07.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-08.jpgNight EffectsNight lighting at the airport looks fantastic. The terminal andpublic side is bright, vibrant and brings the virtual airport tolife. The terminal interior is lit up and gives you a lot to look atwhen parked at a gate. It adds to the sense of life you get atTenerife and plays a big part in maximising the usability of theairport scenery. Taxiways and the runway are also very well lit and give you lots ofvisibility when flying in and out of Tenerife. Marked taxiway lightsto and from the runway as well as lit signs showing taxiwaydesignations ensure that navigation is easy all around theclock. Stands also feature floodlighting. When parked at a gate, yoursurroundings are lit up, offering maximum visibility. A lot of defaultairports in Microsoft Flight Simulator can appear too dark with littleuse of floodlighting, this certainly makes for a nice change. Overall this is a great airport to fly into, regardless of the timeof day you fly. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-09.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-10.jpgThe Surrounding Areasim-wings have not only focused on the airport itself but have alsoincluded several scenic features all around the region too. Ground mesh has been updated and different ground levels are muchmore realistic with high-definition moulding of the ground. Theairport sits on a mountain slope and therefore a lot of ground hasbeen displaced to make the airport as flat as possible. Wind farms to the east of the airport have also been recreated andanimated which is also very good to see. My only gripe with it is thatthe fan blades are all in the same position and spinning in unison, otherwise, it's a very high level of detail that will add to yourflying experience, especially if it's an airport you are familiar withvisually. /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-15.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-16.jpgOpinion And Closing RemarksOverall this is a fantastic recreation of Tenerife-Sur. sim-wingshave a fantastic eye for detail, something which I saw when reviewingtheirMunich Airport scenery, and this has continued into Tenerife-Sur. The high level of detail covers the entirety of the airport fromrunway to gate, inside the terminal and well into the surroundingareas. A lot of care has been taken to add detail to every aspect ofthe airport within the perimeter fence and beyond. I have been massively impressed with what sim-wings have releasedso far for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and they are a developer that Iwill certainly be following along closely with future add-on releases. If you are looking for somewhere a little warmer to land in thevirtual MSFS world, then sim-wings Tenerife-Sur is definitelysomewhere for you to consider! /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-17.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-18.jpgThe Technical BitMinimum RequirementsMicrosoft Flight Simulator (2020)OS: Windows 10 (Nov 2019 Update - 1909)CPU: Intel i5-4460 -or- Ryzen 3 1200 or betterGPU: NVIDIA GTX 770 -or- Radeon RX 570 or betterDirectX: DirectX 11VRAM: 2 GBRAM: 8 GBHDD: 5 GBBandwidth: 5 Mbps /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-19.jpg /images/reviews/tenerife/t/simwings-tenerife-sur-20.jpgReview PC SpecMicrosoft Flight Simulator Premium DeluxeWindows 10 Professional6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 6700K Processor32 GB RAMNVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660/images/reviews/tenerife/title3.jpgMichael Hayward Purchase Sim-Wings Tenerife Sur For MSFS 2020 See other Sim-wings scenery for MSFS 2020

  11. Sim-Wings IbizaPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: MrYorkiesWorldSuggested Price: $19.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/swibiza/t/screenshot1.jpgIntroductionHello everyone, my name is Jay, AKAMrYorkiesWorld, and in today's review I'm going to be talking aboutAerosoft Sim-Wings Ibiza for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Ibiza is one of the airports I really love to visit in the sim, especially during all this global doom and gloom because it reallygives me a sense of the summer holidays. It's a really nice piece ofscenery by Sim-wings (published by Aerosoft) and I'm really excited toget into the review. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/airportexternals1.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/airportexternals2.jpgAbout The AirportSo, in terms of the airport itself, which carries to ICAO codeLEIB, Ibiza Airport is the international airport serving the BalearicIslands of Ibiza and Formentera in Spain, located about 7km southwestof Ibiza Town. As the island is a major European holiday destination,it features some year-round domestic services as well as several dozenseasonal routes to cities across Europe. The airport itself has just one runway, obviously with both ends ofthat single runway being used. The runway numbers themselves beingrunway 24 and runway 06. By 2017, the airport itself was handling around 77,000 aircraftmovements per year, and if you consider how popular the holidaydestination of Ibiza itself is, you can sort of understand why therewere so many flights in and out of the airport. It isn't the biggest airport in the world, but it's certainly onethat sees a lot of action on a regular basis. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/airportsurroundings1.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/apron_1.jpgFeatures, Graphics And ModellingThe in-sim scenery from Aerosoft is truly second to none, with allthe parking areas and taxiways correctly and accurately positioned toadd that extra bit of realism, and the scenery also includes some ofthe surrounding areas of the island as well which helps it to blend inperfectly with the existing Microsoft Flight Simulator scenery. The airport looks really nice on approach from either side, withplenty of details being rendered even from a distance, and whendeparting out of the airport you get to see some of the gorgeousscenery that is featured alongside the main airport itself aswell. Custom taxiway signage means the taxiway signs are really clear andprecise depending on the time of day. They can easily be seen in bothdaytime and night time. The font looks legible and the actualmodelling of the signs themselves appears to be of really high qualityas well, however I did notice at times the text on the ground and onthe signage did seem a little pixelated. This could be because I'mrunning the sim in 1080p and was really getting quite up close andpersonal with the drone camera at times when I was checking it out,but from a distance it really doesn't seem to cause any issues, andI'd say if you're just arriving or departing from the airport youprobably wouldn't notice the slight pixilation on the text -especially from a distance. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/firedept1.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/golf_taxiway_sign.jpgThe airport terminals and general buildings throughout the airportitself look really well-made. The textures are sharp and realisticregardless of what time of day it is in the simulator which isnice. There's nothing worse than arriving at an airport in the sim andthe models and textures not quite being the same as reality, but withthis scenery they really do appear to be spot-on in my opinion. One thing I did notice is that some of the road textures behind theairport building could have been improved on. Some paths where carsare driving don't really have any road markings or textures, and Ithink the scenery could definitely benefit from having these added inor improved in places. Overall though, not really an issue if you'renot bothered by that sort of stuff. The scenery has custom animated jetway models as well which seem towork well in all kinds of aircraft. Personally, I use the A320 for themajority of my flights and I've not had a single issue when arrivingor departing from a stand or gate with a jetway - they've alwaysworked great for me every time. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/maxspansign.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/windsock1.jpgPerformanceTaking a look at the performance of the scenery in MSFS and I haveto say I've been quite impressed. Even with a really detailed airportarea which is extended to some of the surrounding areas, the Ibizascenery really doesn't take up too many of your frames, and moreimportantly it doesn't induce a lot of stutter either. In my case, Iwas able to get anywhere between 40 - 60 fps in the sim, even whenusing the A320 Neo by FlyByWire. Performance at night, as expected, seems to drop a little, but thisis probably the case with most scenery out there and it doesn't reallycause any major issues in terms of immersion. Personally, I'd ratherput up with the slight drop in frames just to take a look at thespectacular night lighting that Ibiza airport and the surroundingareas have to offer. More than likely, as future sim updates are added I assume that anyexisting performance issues with this scenery will only get better andbe further ironed out, but overall this is a really good startingpoint as far as Ibiza scenery goes for MSFS and I didn't have anyissues at all when flying around. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/nightlights2.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/nightlights1.jpgNight LightingSpeaking of night lighting, I was really impressed with what thisscenery has to offer at night. A lot of sceneries tend to look reallygood in the daytime and then struggle at night, but in the case ofthis one I think it's safe to say Aerosoft have really gone intodetail to try and make things look really nice and immersiveregardless of the time of day or night. The environment around the airport area and the surroundings lookreally nice during a sunset or sunrise and you can see from the screenshots how well the night-lighting has been reproduced aswell. The ramp looks nice, as do the taxiways and the runway. Everythingseems to be in the right place inside of the scenery and it's easy tonavigate around at night or in dark conditions by using the lightingitself and the illuminated signage, etc. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/sunset1.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/sunset2.jpgAccuracyWhen it comes to accuracy, I think it's safe to say Aerosoft havedefinitely got it right with this one. The airport seems to have allof the major gates and stands, taxiways and runways. Everything seemsto match pretty well with its real-world counterpart and I wasn't ableto find any major differences worth noting that would really cause anylack of immersion in the scenery itself. The outskirts of the airport match up well with the in-sim scenerytoo, which is great for those of you who like VFR flying around thisairport and checking out the sights. I wasn't able to find any hardborders where you can obviously see a change or a difference inquality so they seem to have done a really good job there in making itfit in well with the surrounding scenery of Ibiza. The ILS for both runways works just fine. I was able to complete anumber of approaches to runway 06 and runway 24 without any issueslining up properly with the localiser or glide slope, and I managed tohit the touchdown zone on both runways quite nicely as a result. /images/reviews/swibiza/t/taxiway_markings.jpg /images/reviews/swibiza/t/terminal_1.jpgSystem RequirementsSo according to the Aerosoft web site, the requirements for thisscenery to work well on your system are as follows: Microsoft Flight Simulator (Version 2020)OS: Windows 10 (Nov 2019 Update - 1909)DirectX: DirectX 11CPU: Intel i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200GPU: NVIDIA GTX 770 or Radeon RX 570VRAM: 2 GBRAM: 8 GBHDD: 3 GBBandwidth: 5 MbpsPrice And Final VerdictSo you can pick up Aerosoft Sim-Wings Ibiza for MSFS eitherdirectly from the Aerosoft web site, or you can purchase it from theFlightSim.Com Store using the links in the description. The productitself, at the time of this review, is priced at £15.52 inBritish Pounds, which equates to $19.99 in US Dollars. Personally, I think the price is very reasonable for what youget. It's a really great rendition of Ibiza airport and thesurrounding areas, and it looks absolutely fantastic in the simulatoritself. It's great on performance and visuals, and it's very accurateto its real-world counterpart as well. If you're looking for a really good Ibiza airport scenery add-onfor Microsoft Flight Simulator I would highly recommend AerosoftSim-Wings Ibiza. Once again, I'd like to thank my good friend Dom Smith over atFlightSim.com for providing a copy of this scenery to review. /images/reviews/swibiza/title3.jpgMrYorkiesWorld Purchase Sim-wings Ibiza for MSFS 2020 See other Sim-wings scenery for MSFS 2020

  15. sim-wings MunichPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: Michael HaywardSuggested Price: $24.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.pngMunich is the heart of Bavaria, thecapital of south east Germany. The airport handles 48 million peoplein a good year and opens up connections to the world. sim-wings are along-standing developer in the flight simulator scene and have beendeveloping high-quality airports for almost two decades. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-01.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-02.jpgsim-wings have recently released their own rendition of MunichAirport within Microsoft Flight Simulator, their second release forthe new platform. Today we will take a look at this scenery in detailand see if it holds up to their usual level of high quality. What/Where Is It?Munich Airport is just outside of the main city of Munich itself, located to the north east. It has two runways, two terminals andserves as a hub for both Lufthansa and their CityLine division. Theairport handled 47.9 million passengers in 2019, making it the 15thbusiest airport in the world. It is also relatively new, having onlyopened in 1992 when it replaced the original Munich-Riem Airport. InstallationInstallation of sim-wings Munich is very simple through theflightsim.com store. You receive an installer download and anactivation key for the add-on. Run the installer, point it to thedirection of your simulator's 'Community' folder, input your key andthe rest is automated. Once the scenery has downloaded, you are then given a pop-up wherethe add-on offers to install a local copy of NavDataPro with Munichcharts included for free. It's a nice feature that I highly recommendinstalling and one I will go into detail later in this review. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-03.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-04.jpgStructures And Facilitiessim-wings have completely transformed the scenery in and around theairport. This includes re-worked terrain data too, allowing for carsand road traffic to pass underneath taxiways in tunnels. The terminal has been completely hand-built and looks spot-on whencompared to their real-world counterparts. Modelling and texturing hasbeen made to a very high standard and this very much stands out. Smalldetails including gate numbers written alongside the service roadswhich ground crew use to navigate by, the airport logo and Lufthansalogo on dedicated gates are included, plus roof vents and sky lightsare all modelled and really add to the sense of scale you get withinthe airport. Another part of the terminal model I adore is the fact that theinterior has also been included and to a very high degree! Windows aretransparent which means you can see benches and even a few duty-freestores. The entrance to Terminal 2 is also something to behold, thered and grey floor contrasts with the open skylight and Lufthansaadvert that overlooks the main doors and looks fantastic. Jet bridges are also custom and function with the default simulatorGround Services. These come in two styles, open triangular window forTerminal 2 and covered for Terminal 1. These are also covered withadvertisements for O2. Functional jet bridges are a massive bonus withany scenery, having a variety of these adds to the detail and depththat this add-on brings. sim-wings have also noted that they aim toimplement working Safegates (VDGS) at each gate as soon as thesimulator SDK allows for this to work. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-05.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-06.jpgThe remote stands of Terminal 1 also feature a series ofout-buildings connected to jet bridges. While generally airports willhave used airstairs to allow passengers to board and disembark, theseare fully-functional bridges that are disconnected to the mainterminal building. Once again sim-wings have added these to theirscenery and I'm sure people that have used these stands in the pastwill appreciate the depth that these developers have gone into addingthese smaller details. To the south is the Lufthansa Cargo Terminal and here too you cansee a very high-quality model, complete with textures that fill theairport environment. These include cargo loaders and containers whichare dotted around the stands and doors. Once again the car park hasbeen populated with vehicles, and even the lorry park around the rearside of the warehouse has lorries parked up and ready to take theirload away. Between the cargo terminal and train station which has alsobeen modelled (complete with local trains), is a walkway bridge thatallows workers to access the station without the need to cross thebusy road. It doesn't matter which part of the airport you're in, you canreally appreciate the lengths that sim-wings have gone to give us afaithful rendition of this airport. If Munich has it in real-life,Munich in MSFS has it too! /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-07.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-08.jpgThe Airport EnvironmentTaxiways and runways have been adjusted to sit in their real-worldpositions. These are very highly detailed with new textures completelychanging the face of the ground environment. Everything within theairport perimeter has been totally transformed and is completelyunrecognisable to what was the default simulator environment. Everyasset, every texture is custom made by sim-wings and used to itsmaximum capability. Ground navigation is also eased thanks to strong clarity of taxiwaysigns and directions painted directly onto the ground. This meansfollowing ATC instructions either using the default ATC or on anonline network can be done with more confidence; you're now much lesslikely to make a wrong turn. Cars enter the airport through a series of tunnels underneathtaxiways to the north and south of the terminals. These tunnels andbridges have all been recreated in MSFS and really stand out whentaxiing in and out of the airport, especially when compared to thedefault scenery which had road traffic at ground level and whichdisappeared at either side of the taxiway. You even have the railwayline that goes alongside the autobahn, which tunnels under the airportalongside a series of remote stands. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-09.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-10.jpgThe entry road to the airport also features a series of modelledheritage aircraft that act as gate guardians to the terminal tunnelroads. These include a Lufthansa Constellation, a Swiss Air Line DC-3and a Ford Trimotor. I'm sure there are many more little details likethis that are dotted around the airport which I may have missed, it'sjust that there is just so much to explore! The whole airport has completely come to life thanks to this add-onfrom sim-wings, I just adore flying in and out of Munich! Night EffectsWhen the sun has set and the evening flights depart, the whole ofMunich is transformed. One issue that default MSFS airports have at the moment is thatthey are too dark. Very little in the way of lighting means thatterminals and gates really have no clarity to them. sim-wingstransforms this entirely, with bright lights filling the centralterminal island with less coverage over the runways, giving pilotsmore visibility of the touchdown zones. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-11.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-12.jpgEach stand has its own floodlight that looks down on the aircraft'sposition; these are bright and fill the scene with light. The airportterminal also lights up with some of it emitting onto the tarmacbelow, adding to the depth and dynamics of this add-on. Individual street lights on roads running through the airport alsoadd an orangey haze to streets, very reminiscent of older halogenlamps that you would find on an evening walk out. Seasonal TexturesSeasons have a great affect on the scenery and transform the lookand feel of the terminal and surrounding facilities. Roofs are coveredin a layer of snow and taxiways and runways are completelycovered. Even smaller details such as cargo boxes and parked cars havea top layer of white just to add more depth to the scenery as a whole. /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-13.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-14.jpgTaxiway lines and signs are also affected and coated in a layer ofwhite but are still clear and visible enough as not to affect yourtaxiing. Do be careful however, as the taxiway boundaries are a lotmore difficult to spot and therefore you need to ensure you're on thecentreline at all times. My only comment would be for sim-wings to add a littledifferentiation, especially on the runways which should be a littlemore visible. It's almost as if Munich has absolutely zero anti-iceand grit salting capabilities, everything is completely covered in ablanket of white. NavDataPro ChartsNavDataPro is Aerosoft's answer to Navigraph, offering you an EFBChart toolkit for your simulator. While it comes at a monthly cost, you are able to use the 'Offline' mode to view charts installedlocally, in this case, this is what comes with this add-on. The UI is extremely easy to navigate. You select your airport (inthis case EDDM Munich), select which chart you require, and this willthen be displayed on the right-hand side. Charts are based on thereal-world LIDO format and are very clear and easy to understand. Including this is a massive bonus and much appreciated - perhaps itis an add-on I'll look into in more detail at a later date! /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-18.jpg /images/reviews/swmunich/t/sim-wings-munich-16.jpgOpinion And Closing RemarksI just adore this scenery through and through! sim-wings havecompletely transformed Munich Airport and have recreated every aspectof the airport, exactly to how it looks and feels in real-life. While a number of developers may focus on just the main passengerterminal and throw in a few small details here and there, sim-wingshave gone above and beyond to incorporate everything that surroundsthe airport, both air-side and land-side including a transformation tothe road network and cargo terminal. The developers have also put a lot of care into ensuring that theywould release the best add-on possible for the new platform, with acommitment to supporting the scenery with future updates once thesimulator's SDK allows for it. Munich serves as a massive international hub, and this scenery fromsim-wings has totally done it justice with every little detailimpeccably recreated. 17. Canary Islands Pro - Gran CanariaPublisher: Sim-WingsReview Author: Alex DickinsonSuggested Price: $32.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-01.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-02.jpgIntroductionWell... the craftsman at Sim-Wingshave been at it once again, by putting their professional skills intomotion with this new addition to their Canary's Islands project:"Canary Islands Professional - Gran Canaria". Gran Canaria is the largest airport within the Canary Islands andsees over 13 million passengers a year. It is also the home of theregional airline Binter Canarias and plays host to a Spanish air forcebase. With two Large runways and plenty of parking spaces, the airporthas seen aircraft as large as the Airbus A380. As well as the mainairport, Sim-Wings have also included the smaller GA airport ElBerriel on the south-eastern part of the island, so GA lovers are wellcatered for too! /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-03.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-04.jpgAirport BuildingsThe terminal at Gran Canaria is a mixture of both old and new andis quite different to the "modular" buildings one associates withmodern international airports. Due to its design, I can imagine thatit was quite a challenge to model, however Sim-Wings have managed toproduce a near like for like representation, so hats off to them! With clever use of texturing, the terminal building looks fresh inthe newer areas, but dated and weathered in the older parts. As wellas the exterior, the interior of the terminal has also been modelled, most notably the departure lounge. This really adds a degree ofauthenticity to the building and was great to see. Moving away from the main terminal, you also have an FBO plus theBinter Canaries maintenance hangar, both of which look stunning. Tothe south part of the airport you have several hardened aircraftshelters for the military, plus lots of hangars. /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-05.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-06.jpgSurrounding SceneryLooking at the second airport included, El Berriel, it was quiteobvious that this part of the scenery wasn't as detailed. Sim-Wingsthemselves describe it as a "Lite scenery" which is a fairdescription. However, in saying that, it still had a good amount ofdetail included, with even the onsite go-kart track beingfeatured. There was also a number of static aircraft models present, plus a custom control building and airport hangar. All in all, ElBerriel makes for a very nice GA airport to head into but do keep inmind that the runway is on the short and narrow side, so it can betricky to use. As well as the two airports, Sim-Wings have also included the wholeisland of Gran Canaria using colour-corrected photographic imagerycoupled with a 5m mesh. For VFR flyers, it is a dream come true, asthe views on offer can be breath-taking! /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-07.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-08.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-15.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-16.jpgApron, Taxiways And RunwaysThe taxiway signage both on the ground and on placards wereaccurately placed, and I particularly liked how the weathering on someof them enhanced the realism. The apron area was busy with vehicles, both on the jet-bridge stands and the northern apron area. Withinthis, you also had textures depicting asphalt and concrete and againgood use of weathering was used. Taxiways were also well done, being weathered like the apron area(good use of rubber marks), but the effects of cracks seemed to be abit repetitive in my opinion. In regard to the runway textures, these were very good and featureda darker greyish like texturing to show a worn asphalt look. I waspleasantly surprised to see how much detail Sim-Wings had put into therunways, especially as both had accurate rubber marks included. Both runways had dual PAPI light configurations which was good tosee, as many payware sceneries I have used to not include thisfeature. /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-09.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-10.jpgSODEUnfortunately, Sim-Wings have not included SODE as standard withthis product which is something I am rather disappointed with. Mostscenery developers include this feature as standard, so at the veryleast I would have liked to have seen it as an additional option. Insaying that, if you go and visit the Sim-Wings web site you can infact download a file which will enable SODE, but unfortunately it doesnot have an installer. Because of this, I found it very complicated touse and, in the end, gave up and used the default animated jetwayswhich worked well. PerformanceUsually with a scenery as complex and as detailed as this, I wouldexpect to see a slight decrease in performance on my system, butsurprisingly I did not. Framerates remained steady at all times andnever once dropped below my capped 24FPS (even with varied weatherconditions). At the time of testing, my computer only had 8GB of RAMso I can only attribute this performance to the wonderful optimizationdone by the team at Sim-Wings. /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-11.jpg /images/reviews/simwcana/t/simwings-canary-islands-pro-12.jpgConclusionThis is a scenery which includes a wonderful amount of detail. Notonly do you get two airports with accurately placed buildings, but youalso have the enjoyment of flying over the whole island of GranCanaria. The textures used for the airport buildings, plus those ofthe island are both of very good quality and really help create thatsense of realism flight simmers crave for. In fact, the only downsideI can really think of is the fact that SODE was not included. However,as much as I would like to have seen SODE featured, it did not detractfrom my overall enjoyment. It's for this reason that Gran Canariastands as one of my favourite airports within this region and one thatI can whole heartedly recommend. 24. Airport Ibiza XPPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: Robin TannahillSuggested Price: $24.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-09.jpgPart 1 - Introduction"It's like waking up on a beach after a scary night in Ibiza" No,not my real life experience, but someone describing a nice piece ofchill-out music. But, Ibiza really does deserve its reputation as theparty capital of Europe, and how many folks have arrived at LEIB withhigh hopes of the holiday of a lifetime? Think Spring Break inFlorida, but for 6 months of the year! Unfortunately, the author ofthis piece is well past that stage, a nice motorhome tour of Devon ismy plan for when the lockdown ends! From Wikipedia: Ibiza Airport (IATA IBZ, ICAO, LEIB), and in Catalan Aeroportd'Evissa. The airport is the international airport serving theBalearic Islands of Ibiza and Formantera. It is located 7 km (4.3miles) southwest of Ibiza Town. As the island is a major Europeanholiday destination, it has several dozen seasonal routes to citiesacross Europe as well as some year round domestic routes. In 2019, it handled no less that 8 million passengers. Of course, that is all irrelevant in these uncertain times, but we as flight simenthusiasts, can recreate these heady days especially with the likesof World Traffic and Traffic Global, and witness an airport full ofaircraft from Spain and Europe. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-03.jpgThe software being reviewed is "Aerosoft - Airport Ibiza XP forX-Plane 11". My copy was obtained from the store.flightsim.com, and is a largescenery pack. Zipped it is 4.1 GB, and unzipped, 10.7 GB. At the time ofwriting, the cost in the store was $24.99. Part II - The SceneryOne thing to note is that, with this scenery, you are not justgetting an airport, you are getting a couple of islands as well! Bestlet Aerosoft set the scene: DescriptionBring home some holiday feeling and enjoy the detailed airport aswell as the fantastic scenery of the two islands Ibiza andFormentera. Both islands include accurate coastlines, the newly designedairport in Ibiza, and aerial photography textures with a spectacularresolution of 0.5 m/pixel for the islands and 0.25 m/pixel for theairport. The international airport of Ibiza (LEIB) features numerous detailsand surrounding buildings. Moreover, fully custom SAM jetways as wellas PBR ground textures ensure a realistic flight experience. FeaturesHigh resolution satellite images (about 0.5 m/px) on the whole islandHighly detailed airport with a resolution of 0.25 m/pxNumerous static vehicles like buses, baggage carts, etc.Custom landmark objectsFully customized SAM jetwaysHighly detailed aerial photograph night texturesCompatible with World TrafficPBR ground texturesRequirementsX-Plane 11Operating system: Microsoft Windows 8 / 10 (64 bit), Linux or macOS 10.10+Processor: Dual Core CPU with 3.0 GHzMemory: 8 GB RAMGraphics card: 1 GB, DirectX 11Installation size: 10 GBTheentry in the Storehas some nice screen shots to give you a flavor of the scenery. Let's see the difference between the default scenery and then withthe Aerosoft package installed. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-01.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-15.jpgAs you can see...much more detail! What about the effect on frame rates? Well, Aerosoft recommendwinding your graphics settings up as much as possible, which for me,with a middle of the road PC and XP 11.4.1 would be a real problem, especially with some Orbx scenery. For example, at Edinburgh, with theUK Orbx scenery installed, and using the latestZibo Mod 738,I would be struggling at around 20 FPS with this setup. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-10.jpgHowever, I am happy to say at LEIB with the above settings, the FPSwere around 30 FPS. This was with the latest Zibo mod, and even betterwith Rotate's "Mad Dog" MD80(Traffic Global present): /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-02.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-18.jpgThis is important for those pilots like myself, who fly onVATSIM. Their latest pilot clients have an "automatic disconnect" ifthe frame-rate drops below 20 FPS for even a short period of time. All of us who have flown to the Med for our summer holidays willremember the blast of heat as you get to the aircraft door fordisembarkation. Well, this Aerosoft Ibiza conveys that impression of ahot sunny destination. The airport itself is faithfully represented, with accurate buildings and surrounds, as you can see from the screenshots vs real life. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-19.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-17.jpgI like the colorful panels on the airport "streetside" facade andthe aircon units on the terminal roof, All these details add to therealism of the experience. The apron markings are clear and there isan ATC taxi network with named routes and gates (important for onlineflying). /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-07.jpg There are some good local touches as well. A nice touch are theshaded parking spots at the car hire office. It's these kind ofdetails that can make you feel "you are there". The stamp collectorsamong us will be familiar with the following: /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-13.jpgNow for the SAM airbridges. Point of interest; the manual for theairport says Malaga has airbridges, however, they mean Ibiza. In myown opinion, I find SAM a bit overcomplicated compared to the oldAutogate plugin, but I have to admit that when I can get it to work,SAM is impressive, I just find it a bit inconsistent. At LEIB, Ibelieve all the parking slots with airbridges are SAM capable and thescreen shot below shows me hooked up to one. But try as I might, Icould not get any of the gate guidance boards to show any information, but that might just be my setup. There is is plenty of ground trafficthough, mostly airport buses and vans. These worked well, but I didspot a bus that was travelling half underground, but that was anexception. It would however have been nice to see some traffic outsidethe airport as well. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-06.jpgAt night, the apron is nicely lit. /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-08.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-05.jpgTaxiing around, it would appear, to me at least, that the apronedge and centerline lights are Laminar default. Personally, I findthese a bit dim and I tend to "lose" the centerline lights on sharpturns. But...where are the people?! There wasn't a soul in sight. Thereare loads of excellent 3d people models and I'm sure Aerosoft couldmake some of their own, but without them, the airport feels "sterile"with no airside personnel. I took a GA flight around the islands just to get an impression ofthe ortho scenery and was well satisfied with the result. It reallyconveys the dry arid islands of the Med in summer, and of course, thebeaches! /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-04.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-16.jpgIn summary, I haven't flown into LEIB, or visited Ibiza, but Ireally liked this scenery, and consider it good value for money. Asmentioned in the review, you can "feel the heat" and it makes youbelieve that this is a proper holiday destination airport. Things I would like to see in any future update would be: 3D peopleTraffic "streetside"Some dried 3D grass beside the taxiways (the orthos are too "flat")Overall though, this is a nice scenery pack and in my honestopinion, a good purchase for those who like flying these Mediterraneanflights. > /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-11.jpg /images/reviews/aptibiza/t/aerosoft-airport-ibiza-12.jpg/images/reviews/aptibiza/ibiza-xp.jpgRobin Tannahill Purchase Aerosoft - Airport Ibiza XP for X-Plane 11
