/images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos1.jpgHey, today we have some fresh previews of Mykonos v2 for you! Aspromised the update will be made available free of charge, depictingthe current state of the airport. Including the new terminal, firestation and more! /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos3.jpg /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos4.jpgAnother big question after Orbx's release of Skiathos is: What areour plans for Skiathos? Unfortunately, it does not make economicalsense to release a second rendition if there already is a decentproduct available. So our Skiathos will not come to MSFS, instead wewill focus on making Contrail the go-to platform for all simulatorsand further airport projects. Beside Mykonos (LGMK) we are activelyworking on Nuremberg (EDDN) in collaboration with LimeSim andCaptain7, followed by Twentynine Palms Airport (KTNP) and brand newprojects. Mykonos Airport is the international airport of the Greek island ofMykonos, located 4 km from the town of Mykonos. It serves flights todomestic and European metropolitan destinations due to the islandbeing a popular leisure destination. Source

Airport MykonosPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: MrYorkiesWorldSuggested Price: $14.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-01.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-02.jpgIntroductionHello everyone and welcome back toanother scenery review. My name is Jay, AKA MrYorkiesWorld, and thisis going to be my review of yet another amazing piece of scenerycoming from Aerosoft, courtesy of my good friend Dom Smith over atFlightSim.Com. Today, I'm going to be taking a look at Mykonos for MicrosoftFlight Simulator. It's one of those pieces of scenery that I've reallyenjoyed spending time on, purely because of how much I love Greece andthe Greek islands in general, both in real life and in the simulatoritself. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-03.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-04.jpgPersonally, when I load into MSFS, I seem to have a constant desireto fly somewhere warm and sunny, especially with all the doom andgloom of the last few years (it's the holiday we should havehad). That's one of the main reasons I love flying into and out ofMykonos - it really is a hidden gem in the sim and in the real worldas well. About The AirportSo, when it comes to Mykonos Airport (LGMK), the airport itself isan international airport in Greece, located around 4 km awayfrom the town of Mykonos itself. It sees a range of airlines coming inand out such as Air France, Lufthansa and TUI, among many others, andit sees traffic coming and going from places around the world such asLondon, Stockholm and Paris. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-05.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-06.jpgOverall, the airport saw movements of over 1.5 million passengersin 2019, with an obvious drop in passengers during the COVID-19pandemic in 2020 and 2021 - seeing around 400,000 to 450,000 passengermovements in the last two years. It only takes around 10 minutes to reach the town of Mykonos fromthe airport, which is great if you don't want to spend too much timetravelling to your hotel. There is a transit bus service providedduring the summer months, plus other transport options such as hirecar or taxi. Features, Graphics And ModellingProbably the most important aspect of a scenery such as this, ishow it looks in the simulator. You want one that replicates how goodMykonos and the airport itself look in real life. I was happy todiscover that this piece of scenery doesn't just cover the airportitself, but also comes with some additional details outside of theairport grounds, such as the Mykonos town windmills, which only addsto the immersion. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-07.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-08.jpgNot only this, but the scenery has other fine details such as anaccurate runway slope, custom runways and taxiways, custom boats andships scattered around, and a realistic rendition of the airportcarpark areas. Things like this might not be that important to some people, but Ilike to see these fine details being included with a piece of scenery,as it shows how thorough the developer is and how far they are willingto go to make a product as close to real life as possible. There are also three heliports included within the scenery. Theseinclude the army's heliport at the east of the airport, the marina'sheliport close to Ornos beach, and the Superior Air heliport close toKalo Livadi beach. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-09.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-10.jpgOther impressive aspects of the scenery include highly detailedrenditions of the terminal and airport buildings, a very realisticapron area, and animated apron vehicles which help to add an extralevel of immersion to your simulation. PerformanceAnother important aspect of any piece of scenery is how it performswithin the simulator. I was pleased to see that I was able to getbetween 40 and 50 fps in the simulator when using this scenery. I wasvery happy with this considering I am running the sim with High -Ultra settings at 4K with complex aircraft, and I would be confidentin saying that most users will probably be able to get a similarexperience in terms of fps. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-11.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-12.jpgWhen it comes to how smooth the simulator runs when using thisscenery, I was happy to see that for the most part I didn't really getmuch stuttering. The only stuttering I experienced was quite minisculeand was probably a result of running the simulator in 4K resolutionwith High - Ultra settings, and also using complex aircraft such asthe FlyByWire A320. At night, the performance was pretty much the same. I was stillable to get the 40 to 50 fps on average, and I would bet that you couldget even more performance out of the scenery at night by reducing yourgraphics settings a little. For example, at night, I tend to reducetexture quality and reflections, etc. as they're not really needed, and so I would assume you could bump up the fps quite significantly atnight in any circumstance using that method if you plan on doing anight flight in this scenery. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-13.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-14.jpgNight LightingNight lighting in the scenery looks pretty good actually. I findthat most of the time these types of scenery look great in the day butthen they struggle to pull off the same wow factor at night. In thiscase, I was actually quite surprised to see that Mykonos airportlooked really good at night. There isn't really much to show off in terms of the island itselfsurrounding the airport grounds which can be expected, but the apron, runway lights and taxiway signs seem to be well lit and look reallynice at night. The taxiway signage is not too bright which we dosometimes get with some sceneries, and I found it pretty easy tonavigate around and find my way to the gate at night straight afterlanding. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-15.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-16.jpgAccuracyIt's always interesting to compare scenery in a simulator with itsreal-world counterpart. I like to use Google or Bing Maps to get aview of the real airport, and then compare the same or similar shotsfrom the sim. I've never been that good at geography, so trying tofigure out how accurate something is from memory is pointless, but Iwas surprised to see that the airport itself is actually pretty closeto what you'd see in real life at Mykonos. The taxiways, runway numbers, stands and gates, etc. all seem tobe pretty accurate which is nice to see, and I wouldn't really expectanything less from Aerosoft since most of their scenery products arevery accurate renditions of the real world. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-17.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-18.jpgI did notice one or two slight discrepancies, especially withbuildings outside of the airport grounds and perhaps some of thevegetation, but I wasn't really fazed by this since it didn't reallyaffect my overall experience. There's a good chance anyway, that someof the discrepancies have something to do with the simulator itself, and not just the scenery product. Final VerdictI always like to wrap these reviews up with a final verdict becauseI feel when it comes to reading a long article or review, you cansometimes lose track of what the best and worst parts are. If you want a good rendition of Mykonos Airport, then this would bethe best product out there for MSFS at time of writing. It adds agreat deal of immersion by using accurate runways, taxiways, andgates, and it also comes with some of the surrounding areas around theairport as well, which only adds to the realism. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-19.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-20.jpgThe scenery looks great no matter what time of day or night, and interms of performance, you won't be disappointed to know that even in4K resolution, you can still get a pretty decent framerate with a nicesmooth overall experience. So, in my opinion, Aerosoft Airport Mykonos for MSFS is definitelysomething you should pick up for the simulator. The scenery currently costs $14.99, or approximately £10.87,and I really feel that you get good value for your money with thisscenery. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my short but tothe point review of Aerosoft - Airport Mykonos for MSFS. /images/reviews/mykonos/title3.jpgMrYorkiesWorld Purchase Aerosoft - Airport Mykonos For MSFS 2020 See other Aerosoft scenery for MSFS 2020

/images/notams/notams18/eddn0717/eddn0717.jpgScenery of Nuremberg International Airport (EDDN) in Bavaria,Germany. Compatible with Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D v4. This add-on brings Bavaria's second largest international airportin an incomparably authentic and lively atmosphere to Prepar3DV4. Over a development period of around 2.5 years, the two designersVolker Wegner and Lars Pinkenburg have rebuilt all the buildings andfacilities of the real airport on the basis of more than 1,000 photostaken on site with great attention to detail for the simulator. Theairport environment was also modeled with great attention to detailand covers a total area of around 55 sq km, with numerouscharacteristic buildings, traffic routes and terrain features, so thatthe depiction is extremely close to reality even during the approachand departure phases. /images/notams/notams18/eddn0717/eddn-1.jpgA special highlight of the scenery is the innumerable and newlydeveloped vehicle and person animations, which contributesignificantly to the realistic atmosphere at the airport. A lot ofwork was also put into the life-like depiction of the taxiway and apronsurfaces. The scenery add-on has been implemented using state-of-the-art,Prepar3D native, design techniques which, despite the high model andtexture complexity, enable a smooth frame rate on current simulator PChardware. /images/notams/notams18/eddn0717/eddn-2.jpgFeaturesHighly realistic rendition of Nuremberg Airport based on most recent geodata55 sq km satellite imagery coverage with resolution up to 20 cm/px including all seasonsHighly detailed buildings with internal modelling of the terminal and Hangar 2Many SODE features such as:Animated jetwaysAutomatic season switchingSnow and rain layersAnimated windsocks indicate wind speed and directionOpen / Close FAI gateRunway lights automatically switched on in low visibilityDetailed airport lighting including REILs, Running Rabbits and optional Dynamic LightingMany animated people on the apron, inside and around the terminalExtensive vehicle animations on the apron and the vicinity of the airportAnimated tower radar and elevatorStatic aircraft with proper liveries and registrationsPrepar3D v4 SDK conform export of all scenery elements using the latest techniquesFully compatible with AI traffic add-ons, ORBX FTX Germany South, FTX Global, VECTOR and openLC EuropeGSX configuration file includedLatest Scenery Configurator for optimal performance and automatic updates Purchase 29Palms Scenery Design - EDDN - Nuremberg /images/notams/notams18/eddn0717/eddn-3.jpg

KTNP Twentynine Palms AirportPublisher: Aerosoft/29Palms/JaraNetReview Author: Luke WebberSuggested Price: $16.99/images/fsc/wbicons/pilot-shop-buy.pngOverviewDevelopers 29Palms and JaraNet havecome together to faithfully recreate the beautiful airport ofTwentynine Palms located just northeast of Palm Springs inCalifornia. This was developers 29Palms and JaraNet's first projectthat they have developed. The scenery includes an extensive 3Dlibrary, over 250 km2 of high resolution satellite imagery (thatlooks simply stunning), and key airport buildings and features. /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_16.jpgKTNP provides both a VOR and RNAV (GPS) approach so you'll happilyget your trusty Learjet in there! The airport provides the best forboth jet and prop general aviation, with runway 8/26 being 5331 feetlong, while runway 17/35 measures 3979 feet. As hinted by the glidertrailer store on the ramp, KTNP is a great location for gliding, especially with its nearby rugged terrain and peaks reaching 5677feet. These provide ample updrafts so as to keep you soaring, and ofcourse, being near the Palm Springs area, the weather is always great.Of my two years of flying on thePilotEdgenetwork, I have never seen the metar report any bad visibility, whichpretty much speaks for itself! As mentioned, "PilotEdge" the onlinenetwork I prefer to fly on, has KTNP within its SoCal base coveragearea, which makes it even more of a reason to pick up if you are anavid PilotEdge user. /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_13.jpg /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_14.jpgSystem RequirementsX-Plane 11 / X-Plane 10.45, X-Plane 10 North-America Edition, X-Plane 10 Steam Version Windows 7 / 8 / 10, OS X (10.6.8 or later) or Linux Ubuntu 12.04LTS or compatible3 GHz, multi-core CPU (or, even better, multiple processors)8 GB RAM3D graphics card with 2GB of on-board, dedicated VRAMDownload Size: 420 MBInstallation Size: 920 MBInitial ImpressionsReady to explore, I took my C172 from KCLR (situated south of KTNP)and headed on a short cross country flight on PilotEdge over to KTNP.As I passed over the Salton Sea, there was not a cloud in sight -perfect sightseeing weather! Approaching the field, I saw theorthographic photos supplied with KTNP, overlaying my own ortho4xpbuilt orthographic imagery. The add-on scenery's ortho wassignificantly darker and more vibrant, but this wasn't really too muchof an issue for me, and I'm sure there is a way to delete thesatellite imagery specific files in the scenery folder if need be.For those using the standard X-Plane scenery, this minor issue willnot be present. However, for those who do have their own texturesinstalled, perhaps the developers could provide two versions to downloadin the future? /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_17.jpgAs I entered left downwind for runway 26, I noticed the neatlyplaced houses and shacks around the KTNP area, plus the appropriatelyarranged flora and fauna. Seeing all this reminded me of how isolatedand often unforgiving this part of the US can be. Turning from base to final, the detailing of the scenery becameeven more apparent. The worn out and weathered runway, surrounded bythe arid environment, looked incredibly realistic as it greeted me ontouchdown. Exiting the runway, I couldn't help but notice the scattered rocksand small dried up lifeless shrubs the developers had seen fit toplace. As I approached the GA parking area (helped by the clear anddetailed taxi signs), even more objects came into view. These helpedgive the airport an additional feeling of liveliness, and it workedwell. The nicely modelled parked trucks, ladders, toolkits and otherequipment, all helped give the impression that it was just anothersunny, busy day at KTNP. /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_15.jpg /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_12.jpgAs I pulled my aircraft up to the main building (which I presume isthe FBO), I saw a man reading a newspaper on the bench. Note: situatedaround the airport were additional 3D characters (all in numerousposes) and while these were not animated like some sceneries, they area welcomed addition. Going back to the main airport building; I noticed that thetexturing went as far as to include airport posters on the walls, andthis along with the quality of the 3D modelling, worked extremelywell. The other buildings within the airport also contained lots ofdetail, with the hangar of the jet aircraft even incorporating a lowresolution sectional chart on its walls. The night lighting of the airport (thanks in part to X-Plane 11'srendering engine), looked stunning. The scenery uses the correct blue taxiway edge lights from thecrossing taxiway from 08-26, all the way down to the end of runway 35.The runway end identifier lights and two-light PAPI's were alsopresent. /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_19.jpg /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_18.jpgOverall FeaturesOver 250 km2 high resolution satellite imagery (0.25 - 0.6m/px)Realistic shadow renditions on many 3D objects through the use of texture bakingHigh resolution day and night textures (2048x2048)Over 100,000 hand placed custom vegetation objectsComplete representation of the airport's lighting equipmentAnimated car trafficScenery compatible with HD-Mesh V3Great FPS /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_11.jpgPros And ConsProsCustom objects used outside of the airport region i.e. houses/shacksWidespread hand placed detailed vegetation e.g. shrubs and treesHigh quality satellite imagery for users without orthographic tilesFPS friendlyMany ramp starts to choose fromAccurate runway/taxiway lightingHigh resolution texturesBaked in shadows on objects such as buildings look very realisticDetailed worn taxiway and runway /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_21.jpg /images/reviews/aeroktnp/t/Cessna_172SP_20.jpgConsVegetation low LOD (Basically the distance you have to be towards the shrubs on the airports next to the runway and taxiway is very close in order for them to show. Maybe this could be lowered?)No option for a version without the satellite imagery (I am sure you would be able to remove the satellite imagery yourself but having two versions to choose from when downloading would be nice).OverallAerosoft's KTNP is an excellent general aviation airport for pilotsof both large and small aircraft. With the airport being in thePilotEdge base coverage area, it makes this scenery even moreattractive. Apart from the two issues mentioned above, there's reallynothing not to like about it. If you're a keen general aviation pilot that likes to fly aroundincredibly scenic areas, or maybe a subscriber of the PilotEdgeservice, then Twentynine Palms Airport is definitely worth investingin, and in the opinion of this reviewer, one you will not bedisappointed with! /images/notams/notams16/aero0501.jpgLuke Webber Purchase Aerosoft - Twentynine Palms KTNP Airport for X-Plane
