Announced in 1962, theF28-1000 first flew in 1967 and entered airline service in 1969. Thestretched 2000, 3000 and 4000 variants followed in the 1970s, andproduction ended in 1987. The aircraft proved to be popular andentered airline service around the world, with the last commercialoperation ending in 2018. The F28 will take advantage of the latest technologies such as PBRmaterials and TFDi RealLight and TrueGlass to produce stunning visualfidelity. Realistic animations include dynamic wing-flex, allpassenger, service and cargo doors, and the distinctive spoilers andtail-mounted airbrake. Moving to the cockpit, the Captain, Co-Pilot and jump-seatpositions are modelled with nearly all switches, knobs and leversanimated and functional. The aircraft will feature custom-codedautopilot, hydraulic, electrical, engine bleed, fuel andpressurisation systems. Wear and tear based on extensive referencephotos and custom sounds will produce an authentic cockpitenvironment, with highly realistic flight dynamics completing theimmersive experience. The Just Flight development team has recently expanded and our newteam members bring with them a wealth of experience in complex,study-level aircraft development. This means that the F28 will notonly look great but will feature custom-coding throughout, includingthe use of external systems to bypass simulation limitations, andhighly realistic flight dynamics with input from real-world F28crew.
