Emerald Scenery Design Alaskan Mesh Project Expands To Cover ORBX SAK
Nels_Anderson posted an article in FSX
/images/notams/notams18/emer0212/sak1.jpgThe Alaskan Mesh Project is expanding to cover ORBX SAK! This scenery is in the late stages of development. It will includea base layer of 10 meter mesh (Double the resolution of the currentORBX SAK mesh) with select areas in 3 meter resolution. 3 meter areascurrently include Eklunta Glacier, Valdez, a greater part of the KenaiPeninsula and the lower Matanuska Susitna river valleyarea. (Continued on from the current AMP: SE coverage area.) /images/notams/notams18/emer0212/sak2.jpgAt the same time of the SAK release, we will be pushing an updatefor the current Alaskan Mesh Project coverage area, which (BTW) shallthen be known as AMP: SE. This update will expand the 10 metercoverage area with newly released data (Courtesy of USGS) bringing thetotal coverage area to roughly 224,359 km2. Alongside this expansion,we have also reexported all of the 10 meter data as 32-bit GeoTiffsinstead of the latter 16-bit. This allows for more precisedata. Included in this update will also be a fix for the Nome Creek 3meter coverage area. This will fix an issue where a setting duringcompile caused the tops of some mountains to be cut off. Both NomeCreek and Fairbanks overage areas have also been optimized to decreasefile sizes by cropping a lot of empty data from their GeoTiffs. /images/notams/notams18/emer0212/sak3.jpgTo accommodate this new release, instead of slapping a download boxon our web site, we have decided to create a page dedicated to thisentire scenery project. This web page will include an interactive mapwhere you can see both the 3 meter and 10 meter coverage areas of allcurrent Alaskan Mesh Project releases. Alongside giving an accuratedepiction of the coverage area, this dedicated page will also keepthings organised as we add to this project in the future. Source /images/notams/notams18/emer0212/sak4.jpg
