Designed in parallel with the recently-released CityScene GoldCoast, YBCG is a highly detailed and incredibly complete reproductionof the airport and surroundings area, completing the most accurate anddetailed airport-city combo currently in our catalogue. Gold CoastInternational Airport has been designed carefully and reflects thereal-world layout of the airport; keen observers will even notice thenew apron expansion and Taxiway Charlie (opened in late March 2018 ¡Vit's not even in the charts yet!). The scenery has been optimizedusing our latest techniques, and has been designed to work optimallywith either Orbx CityScene Gold Coast and/or Orbx Australia. As an added bonus feature, Gold Coast International also includes a highlydetailed depiction of nearby YSPT Southport Airport, with its uniqueand characteristic sloped taxiways and elevated parking spots. Gold Coast: A Little Bit Of Info Gold Coast is a beachside city in the Australian state ofQueensland, approximately 66 km south of the state capitalBrisbane. The entrance to the airport issituated in the suburb of Bilinga near Coolangatta. A great piece oftrivia, the runway itself straddles the state border of Queensland andNew South Wales, and during the summer months these states are in twodifferent time zones! The airport exceeded 6 million passengers and isthe sixth-busiest airport in Australia. The airport is frequentlyvisited by Boeing 787, 737, Airbus A330, 320/21 and Embraer jets. Theairport also has a busy general aviation apron. The airport is ashome to light single VFR weekend warriors as it is to heavy-metalcaptains. Gold Coast Airport has two airline lounges: one operated byVirgin Australia, and the other by Qantas; both have been in operationsince 2012. The airlines which operate at the airport are many, forexample you are likely to see AirAsia X, Virgin Australia, Air NewZealand, JETGO, Jetstar, Qantas, TigerAir and many more charteroperations, particularly during the peak tourist season. The new apron at the southern end of the airfield was been openedjust a few days before the Commonwealth Games and now is fullyoperative, the same for the new taxiway Charlie. Despite an acute lackof source material and references, this scenery has included bothcomponents with the help of local staff and pilots. YBCG is perfectly situated near two well-loved Orbxdestinations. The nearest airfield is YSPT Southport, which is locatedonly 30 km to the north, just beyond the Gold Coast skyline. BrisbaneInternational (YBBN) is just a little further north, and perfectlysituated for both short joyrides and testing flights for yourfavorite airliner. This small airport is located (asmentioned above) about 30 km north of Gold Coast Airport. This airfieldhas a single tight runway and unique sloped elevated taxiway andparking lots; these features have been carefully recreated. This smallairport is very active, many GA aircraft based on-site. Near the mainapron is famous club house of Southport Flying Club. Despite theunique elevation features, Southport is fully compatible with AItraffic. The CityScenecaptures one of Australia's favourite tourist destinations in completedetail; explore 600 sq km of beautiful beaches, urban landscapes,hotels, towers and waterways. The area straddles the New SouthWales - Queensland border; Brisbane lies 65km to the north, whilstmajor NSW regional centres such as Balina, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbourand Port Macquarie lie just to the south. One of the features of thecalendar is the Gold Coast 600 Supercar Motor Event; held in thecentre of the city, the event is a launching stage for spectacularaerial displays from the RAAF.
