  1. Eurofighter Typhoon + Harrier PREVIEW - CJ Simulations/DC Designs By thecorporatepilotdad The Eurofighter Typhoon is the first contribution by CJ Simulations for MSFS. This preview includes a brief overview of aircraft systems, avionics, navigation systems, autopilot, auto throttles, lighting, and one of the best features in MSFS to date - helmet mounted display. The last section of video shows 2-3 minutes of raw footage not used in the preview for the viewer to evaluate without commentary. To end, the closing scenes are different angles of the DC Designs Harrier taking off, hovering, and landing. About CJ Simulation's Eurofighter Typhoon CJ Simulation's Eurofighter Typhoon is designed to provide atop-quality aircraft that is extremely detailed, yet less demanding to fly than today's most complex procedural simulators. Equipped with all required avionics, and with custom-coded animations and systems, the CJ Simulations Eurofighter is designed to be accessible to all users without the need for intense study. About DC Designers Harrier DC Designs brings you all three modern variants of the Harrier II for MSFS, with a brand-new, custom-coded VTOL system, 12 paint schemes, authentic night lighting with user-operated 'slime lights',custom-coded animations, stores selection page and up-to-date special effects. The cockpit of the VR-ready Harrier II features smoothly animated3D instruments, custom-coded MFD screens and HUD, 'scratched canopy' glass effects, crew figure and a full interactive checklist. thecorporatepilotdad Youtube channel The Corporate Pilot Guys Podcast CJ Simulations - Eurofighter Typhoon product page DC Designs - AV-8B Harrier product page About The Author This video is produced by thecorporatepilotdad. 3. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0913.jpgI’m extremely excited to reveal that for some months now I havebeen working with a brand-new developer on a new aircraft forMicrosoft Flight Simulator, which will be released in October 2022 forPC and Xbox. The developer is CJ Simulations, and is owned by noneother than my chief coder and flight model expert, CodenameJack. The aircraft is the CJ Simulations Eurofighter Typhoon. This is ahighly detailed rendition of the aircraft with fully operationalcockpit modelled and coded as close as possible to the real airplane, custom delta-canard flight model, multiple liveries and all associatedspecial effects. Jack has been hard at work making sure visualdisplays match as close as can be to the real aircraft, based on theavailable data. I’ll let the images and video link speak for themselves. TheTyphoon is a much-loved modern fighter jet that has not yet been donejustice in MSFS, and as a result it was a project we settled on backin Spring 2022. There are plans for more aircraft by CJ Simulations inthe future, but for now sit back and enjoy the pre-release images andvideo. Source See other DC Designs aircraft for MSFS 2020
  4. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0911.jpgIt's a short update this week, and an early one as I’m out all daytomorrow. Therefore, I shall use this brief update to informeverybody of two cool new things happening at DC Designs. The firstconcerns the Harrier, and something that several people have asked:“Can you make the Harrier “bow to the crowd†while hovering, like itdoes at air displays. I had not had the chance to test this untilrecently, and yesterday was able to give it a go. The answer was: yesyou can! However, to balance the Harrier while performing the bow andnot climb, drift or descend is really difficult even in lightwinds. The aircraft’s engine thrust responds to N2, which means thereis a lag between adding or removing power, and the thrust altering toclimb or descend in the hover, which complicates things evenfurther. The second thing is that there has been a very, *very* secretproject underway for some months now, and this project will beofficially announced next week. It is a fighter aircraft, one of themost modern and popular in the world, and I’ve been building it for abrand-new developer with whom I have gone into partnership for thisand other projects in the future. We have been working to produce newaircraft that are announced late in production and released fairlyquickly thereafter, on both Xbox and PC. They do the flight model, systems and html code, and I build the model and animations. If thatsounds familiar, it’s because it probably is, but it’s now an officialthing and will broaden the scope of aircraft on which I can work andlearn from. I am under a Non-Disclosure Agreement with the new developer, so Ihave not been able to discuss this aircraft with anybody and cannotanswer any questions about it. All I can say is that it’s incrediblyawesome, tremendous fun to fly in MSFS, and will be released within amonth or so with Just Flight ( and on the Marketplace as soon as thenew developer’s store is cleared with Microsoft ). 8. /images/notams/notams22/dcd0429.jpgI've made quite a few posts this week! The drama of Sim Update 9seems to be passing now, and obviously it's caused a lot of developersand users a lot of problems with new bugs appearing everywhere, constant CTDs for console users and so on. I'm hoping that the simwill again settle down and that future updates will be less traumatic- Microsoft and Asobo Studios genuinely want things to go moresmoothly and are working hard to try to find solutions to all theseproblems, so stick with it if you can. The update did reveal a major cause of many problems – a mod calledthe GTN-750. If you own it, and have issues with aircraft systems ornavigation, try those airplanes without the mod. It contains vitalnavigation systems that over-ride those in the sim with differentcoding, and as a result the other airplanes that you may own, causingblack screens or other failures. This isn't the fault of the moditself, merely the fact that using it blocks off the sim's ownsystems, causing problems with other airplanes that might rely on thebase sim's coding. The F-15 Eagle updates were of course put on hold and won't startagain until next week unfortunately, such is the knock-on effect ofhaving to trawl through the problems created with each Sim Update andfix them. Work was progressing well and hopefully will continue to doso now, with lots of new details being added, as well as the cool neweffects in SU9 such as the custom G-vapor and others. I've attached afew images of the work being done for you to look over, nothingground-breaking this week I'm afraid but hopefully the updates will bereleased somewhere in the first half of May if there are no other simtraumas to deal with. 9. /images/notams/notams22/conc0428.jpgShe's back. After tremendous work by CodenameJack, and Concorde users"LameLefty" and "RESETXPDR" on the Microsoft forums, all of the engineand fuel issues have been diagnosed and fixed. The updates will besent to Just Flight and the Marketplace today to ensure Concorde getsback into the skies as quickly as possible for all owners. I should also add that Jorg Neumann at Microsoft has been hugelyhelpful in talking over what went wrong. We were able to find a way toimprove the communication between Asobo Studios and third-partydevelopers prior to Sim Update releases, so that all developers knowmore about what has actually been changed within the sim *before* thefinal update rolls out. The plan is that with a detailed Changelog inadvance of Sim Update releases (but while still in beta), devs canrapidly locate and diagnose issues and prepare their updates with moreaccuracy, instead of wondering what's a new sim-bug and what's agenuine fix or change each time the updates roll out. This idea is aWIP, as it would require Asobo to lock down their code earlier to givedevelopers more time to make changes, but Jorg liked the idea andhopefully it will become a thing in the future. Concorde's update should reach users today or tomorrow, dependingon where you purchased Concorde. Source Latest Sim Update Breaks DC Designs Concorde
  10. /images/notams/notams22/conc0427.jpgAfter much work by CodenameJack and also some great assistance byConcorde fans and users, there appears to be a potential fix ready forConcorde. The alterations by Asobo in the depths of the newfuel_system affect fuel pressure lines, hence the reheats cutting outand the failure of fuel transfer (fuel line pressure too low in bothcases). If all works well, the update will be rolled out within a day ortwo across all platforms. Other aircraft have not been affected asthey don't use the new fuel system yet or their fuel systems are farsimpler than Concorde's immense set up (181 lines, 48 junctions, 33valves and 37 pumps). There is no documentation in the SDK on whatAsobo changed or why. The fault created by the change was reported byConcorde users during the SU9 beta, but nothing was done and nofeedback was provided either to us or to them, so we cannot tell ifit's a sim-bug or intentional. I will post again when the update goes live. We won't changeanything else, this emergency update will be just to ensure thatConcorde is operating correctly again. 11. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0426.jpgDear Asobo Studios: Thank you for breaking our airplanes, for thethird time, with Sim Updates. We will now once again cease productionwhile we try to understand what you have broken, how to fix it, thenget everything updated for our customers (again). That is all. Concorde is effectively grounded until it can be fixedand updated. Apologies to all. ETA: CodenameJack has narrowed the issue down to the new Asobofuel_system. Yes folks, a year and a half since launch, and they'restill changing things as crucial to airplanes as fuel - this bug wasreported during the beta by users, and yet SU9 was released anywaywithout the bug being fixed. Do we now fix it our end? Will Asoboissue a patch? Will the patch then break our fix? The beta system isof absolutely no use if Asobo do not act on crucial issues such asthese *before* going live with their updates. The fighter jets (F-14, F-15 and F-15) and PT-17 Stearman are stillon the older fuel system, so appear unaffected at this time. Source
  12. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0408/dcdesigns-1.jpgSo, one week on from the launch of Concorde, and it's time to talkabout the future. First up is Concorde's second foundational update, v1.0.2, outtoday, which is to ensure that everything essential that needscorrecting has been corrected, and most importantly that the in-gameInteractive Checklist is 100% correct. This is so console users canfollow an accurate A-B-C flight from start-up to shut-down withouthaving to reference the manual. This is why Concorde was not releasedto the Marketplace at the same time as third-party stores - I knewthat the Checklist would need refining first, because accessing themanual is not possible on the console, quite important when it's 100pages long. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0408/dcdesigns-3.jpgConcorde has been submitted to the Marketplace forprocessing. Please don't ask when it will be released, Microsoftdetermines that so I don't know the answer. It turns out that the Xboxconsole cannot handle the same models as PC, so there are a fewfeatures missing at the moment (just passenger models and a shorterpassenger cabin) until we can work out how to get them in withoutmessing up performance on the consoles. The F-15 Eagle and F-14 Tomcat updates will follow next. These areboth quite significant updates, especially the F-15 Eagles, so plentyto look forward to there. I'm hoping to have both completed andreleased by the end of April. For the rest of the year, there are some changes to myschedule. First, the bad news; due to recent events in Eastern Europe,I do not feel comfortable continuing with my SU-27 Flanker project. Asa result, this has been shelved until further notice. I know therewill be those who are unhappy about this, but it's my call and I won'tbe entering a debate about it with anybody. /images/notams/notams22/dcde0408/dcdesigns-2.jpgNow, the good news; the SU-27 will instead be replaced by anaircraft I know many are very keen to see in MSFS, the F4JPhantom. This version has been chosen as it also represents the UK'sFGR2 variant, expanding the potential for liveries. The Phantom wassecretly under development some months ago, but work halted when Ilearned that a fellow developer was keen to bring their Phantom toMSFS. However, I've since learned that they're working on a muchearlier variant and it's not due for a very long time, so this doesn'tclash much. The Phantom represents an immensely popular fighter jetthat has a huge following in the aviation world. No dates set yet forit, but work will now continue apace alongside the other mainprojects. Therefore, my 2022 / early 2023 release schedule is currently: AV-8B Harrier II - Summer 2022A-10C Thunderbolt II - Fall 2022F-4J Phantom - TBDThe P-61B Black Widow project will also continue ready for freewarerelease later this year if all goes well there, I work on it when Ican. 16. DC Designs Concorde Preview By thecorporatepilotdad DC Designs' Concorde for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Screen shots and video of the Concorde show off the exterior of the aircraft in a cinematic fashion. A cabin walk-through of the cabin precedes that galley and cockpit tour. The aircraft does reach Mach 2.0 and will fly at 60,000 feet under the right conditions. A climb schedule is show in the video and will be included in the 100+ page manual. The sounds are great, but the sounds in this video is from the DC Designs F-14. Custom Concorde sounds will be added on final release. Concorde is set to release on March 30th, 2022. 17. /images/notams/notams22/conc0314/concorde-1.jpgConcorde work continues with even more dials, knobs, buttons, switches and animated drums! We have now added the selector dials thatcontrol just how much fuel is transferred into which tanks each time, allowing fine control of Concorde's Centre of Gravity when inflight. This is not only important for obvious balance reasons, butalso for when using the automatic fuel-transfer system, for which itthen controls how much fuel to transfer each time to maintain theaircraft's balance without the user having to worry about it. /images/notams/notams22/conc0314/concorde-2.jpgThe hydraulic system is running well, with multi-selectable set-upsfor blue, yellow and green systems (although not all three will haveany effect on Concorde, they were there for redundancy purposes in thereal airplane ) and the electrical system is linked in with everythingelse. There is basically too much to list here so I won't bore you allwith it, it's enough to say that with the projection gauges now beingfinished off / refined, Concorde is finally fully functional, and workon the manual and final flight testing will begin next week. At thesame time, a single copy of Concorde will be sent to YouTuber andcommercial pilot CorporatePilotDad, who will perform the first previewof Concorde while also helping us to test her prior to the launchday. Further preview copies will then be released to selectedpreviewers in the days following. Those receiving preview copies havealready been contacted or had it confirmed that they will. 18. /images/notams/notams22/conc0307/concorde-3.jpgWelcome to the next development update covering the Concorde forMSFS. Here's a summary of where we are from Dean at DC Designs. Pleasenote all images are still WIP. Concorde is now reaching the point where all essential operationalsystems are active, and further extra features are being added in. The addition of interactive points such as jetway attachment, ground power, fuel trucks, baggage loading, boarding ramps and so on,have really bought Concorde to life. Both forward and aft baggagecompartments have been added and animate whenever baggage loading isrequested from ATC. Likewise, refuelling ports and the Ground PowerHatch open when those requests are made, with the relevant vehiclesarriving and connecting to fuel or power lines. /images/notams/notams22/conc0307/concorde-1.jpg /images/notams/notams22/conc0307/concorde-2.jpg /images/notams/notams22/conc0307/concorde-4.jpgFlight deck work continues with projection gauges and annunciator /circuit lights being coded for their correct purposes. The fuel systemis now complete, and matches the real Concorde's entire set up. Theelectrical and hydraulic systems are also in place. Full auto-pilotfeatures have all been added ( including max-climb, max-cruise andothers ) allowing full ILS landings and approaches to supportingairports. The flight model perfectly mirrors Concorde's real-lifeperformance throughout the flight envelope, and trans-Atlantic rangeis confirmed, wtih fuel burn matching the real Concorde closely. PBR is now applied to the main fuselage and engines, and textureartwork will continue to be improved over the coming weeks along withmuch of the interior modeling and detailing. The galley and passengercabin are all being worked upon, with finer detail being graduallyadded in. In addition, work is well underway on Concorde's full customsound-set, including those deafening Olympus engines. Release still on for this month so do stay tuned. And enjoy theselatest shots. Source

Concorde's flight deck is now starting to come alive as morefunctionality is added. All switches, knobs and buttons are now activewith coding being created to cover the huge array of functions forthis complex airplane. The engineer's station is now also fullyanimated. Textures are being applied and soon coding will begin on thehuge number of annunciator lights and other instruments, often uniqueto Concorde. /images/notams/notams22/conc0114/concorde-3.jpg /images/notams/notams22/conc0114/concorde-4.jpgWork has also been on-going with Concorde's flight model, whichalso requires many unique characteristics including supercruise. Themodel is nearing the flight-testing phase. While it already can fly inthe simulator and reach Mach 2, it does not yet do so in the correctway. Step climbs, centre-of-gravity balancing via fuel transfer, thrust and drag curves and a host of other features are being workedupon to ensure that Concorde flies as she did in real life. Theexterior model will receive further enhancements including weathering, improved PBR and continued modeling detail work as the projectprogresses. /images/notams/notams22/conc0114/concorde-2.jpgHope you enjoy these latest screen shots. 21. F-14 TomcatPublisher: DC DesignsReview Author: James HuddisonSuggested Price: $34.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-in_the_air_2.jpgWhen I was approached and asked if Iwanted to write a review for the F-14 Tomcat for MSFS, I was slightlyhesitant. Call me old fashioned, but I generally prefer to flymilitary aircraft in dedicated military flight simulators, such as DCSWorld. But having heard good things about the Tomcat, I agreed toreview it, and in hindsight, I absolutely made the right call! Surely the F-14 needs no formal introduction: featured in manyfamous movies, like Top Gun and The Hunt for Red October (to name justa couple), it is one of the most beloved and well recognised militaryfighter jets ever made. The F-14 made its maiden flight on 21st December 1970 and served asthe US Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter, well into the2000's. It has also been featured in many arcade flight/fighter jetstyle of computer games, such as Ace Combat 6 & 7. With such a hugereputation and fanbase, my (and many other peoples') expectations wereset extremely high for this one. Installation is straight forward: purchase and download the package(which comes in the form of an .exe file); and it will perform anyavailable updates and install directly to your MSFS communityfolder. After the installation was complete, I chose my preferredlivery (only 3 available at the time of writing this review), pickedmy desired runway and clicked fly. My oh my, looking at the Tomcat in external mode whilst sitting onmy chosen runway, made my jaw literally drop to the floor - theexternal modelling of the F-14 is absolutely exquisite; with highlevels of detailing and texturing throughout. You can even see the twopilots sitting in the cockpit of the aircraft - it all looks somewhatout of place in a simulator such as MSFS; but in the best waypossible. /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-cockpit_3.jpgThe high level of quality continues into the cockpit. All thevarious banks of instruments and switches have an authentic weatheredlook about them, and it certainly conveys the impression of actuallysitting in the cockpit of this iconic aircraft. The majority of theswitches and buttons are thankfully operational, and as such, onecould spend many hours simply flicking the switches on and off, justto see their effect on the aircraft and its systems. It's a step-up from similar fighter jet offerings that are foundelsewhere for MSFS. /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-cockpit_1.jpg /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-cockpit_2.jpgAt this point, with not even a single glance at the includedmanual, I simply couldn't resist engaging full afterburner, releasingthe parking brake, and taking this beauty up for a fly around. The roaring sound of the afterburner deserves a special mentionhere, as even when situated in the cockpit, the audio is highlysatisfying. When viewing the F-14 in external mode, the cameraactually seems to shake as you pan your view past the violent flamesof the afterburner - fan service at its very best! Afterburner noise levels and effects, can literally make or breakthe jet aircraft experience, and I'm happy to report that the Tomcatsimply aces this category, as I found it to be one of the mostenjoyable features of this aircraft. Another neat feature of the DC Design Tomcat, are the sweepingwings, as when in external view, if you punch full afterburner, youwill notice that the Tomcat's wings fold neatly into its body, justlike the real aircraft. Vice versa, once you reduce the throttle, thewings will sweep outwards again. This is so beautifully modelled inthe package, and it's an absolute joy to watch! /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-external_1.jpg /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-external_2.jpgThe Tomcat thankfully flies very well and has a highly authenticfeel to its handling. Flying from point A to B is all so intuitive;whilst also conveying a feeling of pure exhilaration and speed. It isa fun aircraft to simply jaunt around in, and it had no noticeableeffect on my sim's framerate and performance. When banking the Tomcat, it all felt so smooth and effortless, itreally was a pleasure to fly. Of course, one of the 'must do's' inany fighter jet, is to point it skyward to see how high it can climband to test its upper limit. As such, the F-14 doesn't disappointhere; you'll be reaching the upper atmosphere limits within secondsand if you manage to stall the aircraft during this maneuverer, then'righting' it is also fairly easy - just pull back your throttle andthe aircraft seems to assist in levelling out (then whacking it backon full afterburner is mandatory!). After a quick but all so exciting fly around, I turned my attentionto the included manual: In my humble opinion, the manual is simply one of the very bestI've seen in MSFS so far. It is beautifully laid out and has everyfacet of knowledge and specification about the F-14, that one couldever wish for. It even has dedicated sections about things like theTomcat's arrestor hook, in which to perform carrier landings. Ofcourse, one will also find the usual take-off, cruise, and landinginstructions, that should be digested before taking the Tomcat up fora serious flight (and hopefully a safe landing). /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-external_3.jpg /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-external_4.jpgFor the more adventurous among you, the manual also givesinstructions on how to customise things like your pilot's helmet, flight suit patches and names. If you dedicate the time and patienceto this package, you can really create the Tomcat of your dreams -truly next level stuff and adds an extra bit of shine and polish to analready stunning package. Autopilot is also well supported in the Tomcat. Reading the manualhere is a must, so that you understand the proper use of the variousautopilot systems and their desired effects in use. It's nice to seethat the aircraft supports use of the auto-throttle system, which isnot often found in other military aircraft for MSFS. /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-in_the_air_1.jpg /images/reviews/dcf14tom/t/DC-Designs-F14-Tomcat-liveries.jpgOf course, there will always be the usual 'fanboyism'; argumentsthat military fighter jet simulation should be left to dedicatedmilitary flight simulators. Personally, I grow weary of this type ofsentiment - previous incarnations of the Flight Simulator series, havesold packs such as the FSX Acceleration pack (which included militaryfighter aircraft), way before simulators like DCS even existed. Also, many flight simmers prefer to fly jets within the beautiful and vastworld of MSFS; rather than in the limited confines/regions of othersimulators. To conclude: The F-14 Tomcat is one of the most authentic jetaircraft that I've yet flown in MSFS. It's now my 'go to' jet aircraftif I need a break from my normal GA flying. If you like your fighterjets in MSFS, then you are going to absolutely love this one - fullyrecommended! /images/reviews/dcf14tom/title3.jpgJames Huddison Purchase DC Designs - F-14 A/B Tomcat For MSFS 2020 See other aircraft by DC Designs
  22. I have been hoping DC will provide a fix for my problem after Update 7 with the missing HUD and other displays missing but so far no. The install software for the F-14 does nothing to repair it. I keep checking. DC and Just Flight don't seem to have any extensive support or forum pages anyway. Anyone know what would bring back these short of re-purchasing the F-14? I don't want to pay $36 again. No way.:(
