/images/notams/notams20/dcs0225.jpgHere is a really informative video from DCS showing how the INSNORM (normal) system works in their F16C Viper. In a recent DCS: F-16C Viper update, we updated how the alignmentof the INS NORM (normal) system works to be more realistic. Whenperforming a cold start, you must either enter or confirm the latitudeand longitude coordinates of your aircraft on the INS DED page withintwo minutes after starting a NORM alignment. This is required for not only for correct navigation data, but alsocorrect display of information on the HUD. This video is provided to better help understand this. Source

/images/notams/notams19/dcs1213.jpgA new element being added to the DCS: F-16C Viper is wing flex andtwisting. This provides a much more dynamic and interesting behaviorto the wing as you takeoff, maneuver the aircraft and high-G, fly lowand fast in turbulence, and even release heavy ordnance. This is thenext large element that we are adding to the external model of theViper. Following this, our next external model task for the Viper isto complete the texture template and create several more skins. Source

/images/notams/notams19/dcs0927.jpgThings are moving at a very rapid pace, and here is where our focus is for the upcoming release: We have RWS and STT working, but work continues the SAM sub-modeand we are cleaning up symbology and functions. We are working onTrack While Scan (TWS) mode in parallel with the Hornet, so this willcome shortly after release.AA Gun, AIM-9, and AIM-120 are up and running, but several itemsto still tune and add. Mostly the Dynamic Launch Zones (DLZ) and a fewmore minor items. The Litening targeting pod is in and working, even for LGBself-designation. There are several items to still fix andadd. Related, the DED laser page for the pod is now working. Pleasenote that the LGB bomb laser code cannot be set in the aircraft.ILS is in, but we still need to set up the needles. It's close andI'll create a video for it soon.Tomorrow we should have the underside of the aircraft done withcompleted textures. With that, Cato will create the launchtrailer. The cockpit is more fleshed out with the Helmet Mounted CueingSystem (HMCS) sensor post, some improved seat textures, a bettereffect for the LCD displays, and we removed the safety pin from themanual chute handle. The Early Access Guide is shaping up well and will be available atrelease. Bunyap has done a great job with it.Several interactive training missions will be available atrelease.ACM radar modes are in, but we just need to update the HUD. Dogfight switch is underway now and associated after and forward(MRM) functions. We plan to have an initial IFF system but have not settled on theexact mechanization. Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) is working in NAV mode. Cockpit night lighting has been further improved with gaugelighting. We want to tune the flood lights a bit more though. The centerline fuel tank will be ready this week. Initial CMDS and RWR is functional. Four programs for chaff andflares and the RWR will be set up for the ALR-56M. Cold start is working now, but we are adjusting some of theelectrical panel sub-systems so the act correctly during coldstart. Some of the instrument values are a bit off too, and we areworking to adjust them. Flight path marker (FPM) drift cut off was added.Next week we will announce the release date. Once released though(soon), the 20% discount will end, and it will probably be over a yearuntil we put the Viper in a sale. Source
