Default P-61 Black Widow available for FS9?

Fightertown Design Group designed a P-61 for CFS2. They no longer exist. Is anyone aware of a P-61 that is available for FS9...payware or otherwise?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Abacas has a nice P-61. Go to their web site and get the download. I have flown this plane for years and it is one of my all time favorites.

I had a little mis-spell. Abacus is the correct spelling...

I know this won't help you right now, but if you're interested, MAAM is working on the restoration of a real P-61.

    See it here:

Their B-25 and the DC-3/C-47 models are second to none. Maybe one of these days, they'll treat us to a flight sim version of the Black Widow (?).

My sister was an Army Nurse on Mindanao in the Philippines during WWII and had a P-61 Black Widow named after her... It was called 'Rita's Wagon.'

I see they are working on a TBM Avenger for FS, that will likely be FSX now I should think, do you think they'll update the Dakota and B25?

I really hope so, I love the DC3 to bits.

    Loren,

Thanks for the info. I have already donated to the restoration of that P-61. Also, FYI, I just read in my Smithsonian magazine that a WWII P-61 pilot is donating his own P-61, that he purchased after the war, to the Smithsonian for display in the newly built hangar they have. A rare bird and one that the general public never knew existed.

That's great news about the donation.

I learned of the "rare bird" back when I was a kid thru plastic scale modeling. I had a few friends that lived in my grangmother's neighborhood (out of state) that all did plastic models and were quite talented in very realistic paint schemes and decaling. One friend had a P-61 by Monogram if memory serves. We used to play dog fights with the planes (very carefully of course, not to break these little pieces of art) and had a blast. He would alway pick the "Black Widow" first because the plane has a four barrel gun turret on the top for better defense as well as attack.

Serious scale modeling makes an excellent hobby to learn about history, about the vehicle you're modeling, etc.

One of my customers that I do computer service for is one of the Tuskeegee fighter pilots fromm WWII and it's always interesting to share stories with. I recently went to a plastic model convention in Baton Rouge Louisiana and bought him a P-51 model plane to give to him.
