Default Please help regarding: creating carrier flight scenarios

OK, so a while back I read the post about aircraft carriers scenery(freeware vs. payware), and based on the responses I went ahead and purchased Flight Deck 3 2004 version direct from Abacus.

I can choose from "Select a flight" and pick the USS George Washington using their aircraft...but how do I create a flight using my own aircraft using Flight Deck 3's George Washington?

It does not show up in the world airports, and the documentation states that it will not show up, yet I see lots of pictures posted from users who are clearly using their own aircraft (Mike, - can you help a brother out here?)with this carrier. By the way: I have already tried to look in the add-on scenery section as well as default scenery - the carrier does not appear there either.

Does this aircraft carrier require it's own afcad file...how would I go about being able to create my own flights?

Any time of yours spent helping me out will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Ripmaster

Probably wouldn't show up under the world airports, because that list is default scenery. Click the Search Add-On Scenery radio button on the Go To Airport page and see if the carrier pops up.

    KJ,
Thank you for taking the time to respond, - I should probably edit my post to state that I have already tried going to the search add-on scenery and it does not appear there either...

I don't think it will show up as a airport.
Go to the nearest airport and slew there

I searched the file libraries and found only one AI package that deals with FlightDeck 3 and (according to the file list within) contains AFCAD data as well. It was under 2 MB. Is that the same one? If so, I wonder where to find the larger original.

Here's a trimmed down AI package that includes afcad's for Abacus' and several freeware carriers, that will allow you to "go to" any of them via the airports menu, using any aircraft/weather/time of day you want. (note: what was deleted was an F-14B that was converted for AI use using a special VF-111 repaint that took up 5 megs). You will need to download the freeware carriers, as appropriate, to use all of the afcad's.

Also note that parking on the carriers was setup for AI use and requires the deletion of several flight deck items like the mules and radar mast, etc. It's not required to delete them, but you may park in the middle of one, otherwise. *grin*
