I am part of a design group tht has just started putting one together. Funny you should ask! Feel free to PM me if you are curious or have any other info on the bird to share. Be patient, as these aren't quick to put togther though.
Great story behind the Avro Jetliner. 1st jet passenger aircraft to fly in North America, and 1st to fly into the US.

I was designing one a while back, but time took all that away> IMO it is a very greceful looking bird.

Great to hear there is an add-on in the works! Very happy to hear it. I was actually very suprised there wasn't one already to be quite honest with you. Please keep me posted about the developement. How long do you estimate?
It is a VERY upsetting story about the Jetliner, and later in the Avro Arrow. I was recently went to see the last standing building of the old Avro plant by Pearson Intl. a couple weeks ago. They tore most of the plant down in 2003 to build a fed ex hanger, very sad indeed.
Howard Hughes actually used it as his personal aircraft for a while, and loved it so much that he wanted to outfit TWA with them!

Default C102 Avro Jetliner - Is there an add-on available?

Hi all. New to the forums, great site!
Just wondering if there is an aircraft add-on for the Canadian designed C102 Avro Jetliner. It was the first jet passenger plane ever to fly on the North American continent, but was scrapped by the Canadian government for reasons that are still not 100% clear, similar to the story of the Avro Arrow.
If there is an add-on available I would love to get it, and if not, if anyone has any plans to put one in the works?

    Thanks!

That's a beautiful Canadian aircraft - looks like a mix of the De Havilland Comet and a Lockheed Jetstar. Looking forward to the release of a FS version!:9 :-)

Anyone have any updated info about this project?
On a similar note, does anyone have any info about any good Avro CF-105 Arrow or CF-100 Canuck Models available or in the works?

Well there is a CF-100 and CF-105 from alphasim ( http://www.alphasim.co.uk/index2.html shop , other air forces). They are both older models (so don't really compete well with newer addons) and the paint jobs are quite plain. I did a pack of 8 weathered and redrawn panel lines , details, rivets, markings) repaints for the CF-100 which you can see at this address

Aerialfoundry has started what look to be good modern models of these two aircraft which will be nice to have finished

The avro jetliner would be a cool addon.

I purchased both the CF-105 and CF-100 from alphasim. The CF-105 is a nice model, likely the best Arrow model I've seen to date. Too bad there is no afterburner effect on it. The CF-100 model, I've had nothing but problems with. The aircraft seemingly "floats" 2-3 feet off the runway, there is no 2D panel whatsoever, and the VC has no working instruments. I'll definately check out your repaints though. Any advice on my CF-100 problems?

It would be great to find a C102 Jetliner model though... I am extremely suprised there is no model yet, and seemingly little interest. The jetliner in my opinion is the first Jet powered commercial airliner in the world. The comet's first "hop" lasted a few seconds and was several feet off the runway. The Jetliner's first flight (2 weeks later) was over an hour, and at altitudes over 13000FT. Besides, we all know what happened to the comet fleet. :(
