That panel is a checklist panel. When it's to be used, it's lit up. When the pilots complete a checklist item, the co-pilot flips a switch for that checklist item and the light in that item turns off. It's an aid to ensuring checklist items on the before takeoff and before landing checklists get completed.

Default Unique sub-panel on American Airlines 757/767's?? What is it??

I have pictures that I've taken of AA's 757 & 767 flightdecks, and I included one here from airliners.net by author Ben Wang ( I take no credit for this photo) - and have always wondered what the sub-panel to the right of the landing gear handle was on the FO's side..I never see it on any other airline I've been on, and could not find it on any other airlines pictures on airliners.net either!
I know the image is rather small, but figured somebody may have an answer! Thanks to all...:7

I hope I am ok with using this photo if giving credit to the author??? I am sorry if I am not allowed, and will understand a lock if necessary..:7
