Anybody know what this new feature does? Sure sounds heavy.

Well, I want to be able to say "Oh, I've been working in Kiosk mode for unattended demonstrations."

Thats the only time I tryed FSACOF, in Kiosk mode. It puts you on a ##### Da** 4 minute timer, and as far as I could tell, you cant get out of it. There are a few themes you can choose, like "Piper cub landing" and it will set you up on approach and give you 4 minutes. Ticktock!

bjpilot, I thought we have had that recording feature for years--or is this a specific use of that? Anyway, it's interesting.

It's for places like computer stores, and apparently gives each person in line about 4 minutes to try it out.

    Hope this helps,

So it's not really for us at home then?

Wouldn't this be a good ground instruction tool? (if I understand what this is).

I could have used something like this--"Now here is about where you turn base, and notice you now have ten degrees of flaps."

Four minutes is enough time to get a point across. Maybe not, it's sometimes hard to transfer images into concepts that can be taken into the real flight situation, but making up a bunch of four-minute illustrations might be helpful.

'So it's not really for us at home then?'

Apparently, kiosk mode is for public demonstrations, ie: People visiting an Air Museum can have a bash at flying the Wright Flyer, or such.

I understand that the options are available in 'normal' mode too, without a time restriction.

NOTE: The above is probably incorrect because it comes from an unreliable source..... the Internet :-lol

Roll on next month, that's all I can say!!!

    Craig.

    in re your statement--

"Apparently, kiosk mode is for public demonstrations, ie: People visiting an Air Museum can have a bash at flying the Wright Flyer, or such."

Do you mean the simulator can be OPERATED--as opposed to merely viewed? If that's the case, I'm not so sure it's a great idea for the purposes I had in mind, that is--illustrating maneuvers and procedures. I thought Kiosk mode would only be for viewing.

    Ralph,

See my post "This is fun but VERY difficult..." This is in the Kiosk section...you select the "Barnstorming" flight and you are placed in the Jenny biplane with the barn ahead of you and the "spectators waiting". You just press P to unpause and attempt to fly though the barn without crashing. The fit is very tight. I changed the aircraft to my C310 for my shots, but you could make it a little easier by selecting a smaller wingspan aircraft.

I think the idea is that a store computer could be setup in this flight and customers could have a go.
