After last update

Everything has been working great until the last update. After the update when I startup the program and it goes to the first screen with the plane, then it goes to a black screen and remains that way for several minutes, sometimes it will continue to start and sometimes it will just sit there on the black screen and never starts up. Any ideas

Navigate to your LocalCache folder and delete the ROLLINGCACHE.CCC file. The sim will create a new one when your re-launch it. I have the MS Store version and my LocalCache folder is in:

AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

The ROLLINGCACHE.CCC file contains data which can become corrupted over time and especially after a screen freeze or CTD. Deleting it and allowing the sim to create a fresh, clean one every now and then is a good habit to get into.

Try opening your Community folder, then look at the folder path in the file explorer window and click on LocalCache there - the RollingCache file should be in that folder, note that you must have 'show hidden files' selected in the file explorer Views options. Edited by tiger1962

He can't launch the sim so we're trying other methods to get him up and running again without to re-install.

Found out why I couldn't find the rolling cache file in the folder, it was turned off in the sim settings. I turned it back on and went back to the folder and found it and deleted it. Restarted with same problem, what size should the rolling cache be set to

Think it defaults to 8 gigs
