Should they maybe rename button AUTOCRASH?

Recommended Posts

For starters, to all those who answered (or peeked at) my "sad story" a few weeks ago, thanks again. Since that cataract operation, I have returned to this great hobby with a vengeance and learning more every day. So much beautiful scenery for low level VFR, but many of us also like the long haul hi- alt IFR stuff and that is what's presently bugging me. After much gooooogling, seems I'm not the only soul with this dilemma.

Most times, especially after pausing or using an enroute saved flight, autopilot acts like a spoiled child. Worse case...the aircraft (Cessna Longitude) decides it would like to do a stall. I' usually high enough to recover but then it doesn't respond to selected heading or altitude. It sure takes the fun out of fun. At times it will just go bananas on its own.

Now this sim has been on-market 2 years, give or take. Is this an original prob or was it caused by a patch? But more important, is there a flight sim doctor with a cure?

Thanks in advance bud

No Pilot Assist, but thanks. This happens most often when I load a saved "enroute" flight. All was honky-dory when flight was saved. Upon reloading flight and while in "pause" mode, I've checked if all AP settings still copacetic before un-pausing. Soon as I un-pause, the roller-coaster begins.

It's a known fault with saved flights, they might have fixed it in Sim Update 10 (due any day now) but don't hold your breath!
