I have installed both SP 1 & 2 and many reboots. same thing. I'm at a loss trying to fix this. Any help is appreciated. loki
What SSD model is it? Are there any firmware updates for it? Does it happen with any other sims or games? Are there any errors in the Windows event logs?
pomak249
Did you do a complete clean reinstall? What version are you using? Im guessing not FSX Steam as you say you have reinstalled SP1 and 2 (which come with Steam i believe). Have you tried rebuilding your fsx.cfg? Doubt its anything to do with your new SSD but more an FSX install issue i5 4690 (350mhz) with Arctic Cooler, 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz, ASUS Rock H97 performance MoBo, MSI Ventus XS OC 1660GTX 6GB, Windows10 64bit, 256GB and 500GB Crucial SSDs
il88pp
when the screen is black wait till the sim either starts (then look for why the pc is slow) or fsx crashes (then look for the crash report) Some reasons for slowness: file indexing not finished virusscanner scanning internet issue updates pending hardware issue - usb devices, printer, etc -cooling -overclock settings reasons to crash: Many. See: what "faulting module" is listed in crash report. look up solution online. Also basic things to try. - Reset the startup flight to 'Ultralight Over Friday Harbor' using the fsx.cfg file. - close fsx, delete the fsx.cfg file, start fsx to create a new fsx.cfg file with default settings.
