jankees
as the title suggests: some of my repaints for 4 prop-engined aircraft: AVRO Lancaster by Aeroplane Heaven they all look the same, but some do have nice nose art: jk5370 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Blackburn Beverly, possibly the ugliest aircraft I ever painted.. 2020-5-28_21-39-58-815 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress by A2A: two paints I'm still quite proud of: 909: 2020-7-12_9-32-7-730 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and 'A Bit o'Lace': 2020-1-6_18-10-45-971 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Boeing C-97 from Manfred Jahn: Really sttange, I've never liked the B-377 from A2A, too ugly for me, but I loved the C-97 from Manfred Jahn. And the only difference is that little radome on the chin, go figure.. jk1057 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Consolidated B-24 Liberator: I painted both the Alphasim and the Flight Replicas versions: This was my favorite for the Alphasim version: jk7526 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and I have many favorites for the FR version (maybe a separate thread?). This one is cool, because that is the original noseart, ok, a photograph of the original noseart that I managed to work into this paint 2020-4-26_7-13-43-359 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Douglas DC-4 by Flight Replicas: I did all the Buffalo DC-4's which are think are really cool: jk1268 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Douglas DC-6 by PMDG: I did quite a few paints for this, both for P3D and for MSFS, and this is my first choice, a nice and simple, "I will go anywhere" paint jk6274 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and finally A2A's LOckheed Constellation Qantas by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here. Rupert
As always, great shots JK!! One of the things I missed not being in WWII is they really frowned on nose art during Vietnam. I did find a para-loft guy to paint a name "Baby Doll" by the side hatch on a H-46 in one of the squadrons I flew with. Which I hope I still have a picture of me standing by stashed away someplace. My lady friend back home at that time was thrilled when I sent her a copy of the picture and told her it was named after her. The name wasn't removed while I was still in the squadron. But a stern warning against more of the same was sent around for everyone to sign that we had read and understood future consequences if it happened again.
