Time to speak the truth!

A month back I was slating MSFS2020 after the new update blew the sim out of the water! I defected to X-plane but I was not impressed with the graphics it was like peeling back time ten years after flying MSFS2020! Last week I received a text from Scan UK we got a few GPU's in if you are still interested... So I jumped at the offer and bought (way overpriced) the RTX3070 Water-cooled and a new motherboard... After installing and setting up AND BEFORE OVERCLOCKING) I decided to give MSFS2020 another try! I was knocked off my seat, MSFS NEVER look so good before this hardware upgrade!... The clouds now look like clouds and not cartoonish like with the old GPU, in fact, every aspect of the sim looks very much better now... When I fly in VR it's now smooth as butter! before it use to struggle regardless of any tweak attempts..... So in short MSFS2020 is back in favour and X-Plane is out! Also, Bing Maps now look fantastic so out with Google maps too.... Do I owe Asobo an apology, certainly not, for bombing out the sim with their shoddy updates that seem to create more issues than solving them! So here's hoping ha 2022 is a good year for ASOBO and quality updates! To be honest, some of the issues I faced since the release of MSFS2020 have been my end and not ASOBO's fault but I blamed them anyway like a fool lol I now look forward to awesome troubled free flights, let the MSFS2020 adventures truly start with all the bells and whistles! All in all I reckon MSFS has cost me around 2k in the last 12 months, with upgrades!! now to get my monies worth!!

Welcome back Dave :)

I tried X-plane a few months back after upgrading my graphics card. I think I gave it about 5 minutes before quitting and uninstalling it LOL

One thing I’ll mention.. there’s a little bug at the moment with VR.. if you’ve got a map open in the sim….the weather options screen..your rudder or throttle may stop working while your mouse/cursor is over said item. I’ve crashed several times this week as a result. I now know the cause and how to avoid it. Apparently it will be fixed with SU8

I don’t know if you are aware ( I wasn’t) but nvidia have released some new drivers. I’ve installed them and changed my settings slightly, as per “VR Flight Sim Guy” and the sim is working better than ever!

Regards

Steve

If the new drivers came out at the beginning of last week I have them but will go check later after this flight from the Shetlands to Manchester... I trip I did twice a month back in the 70s, Thanks Steve
