leuen
Actually I'm backdating Algerian airfields as they could looked beginning the Sixties. According to the 'AERAD Flight Guide' of this time, several airports had the runways with 'rolled strip', 'rolled sand' or 'rolled soil' pavments. The last two should be clear, but what could be ment with 'strip' as material? Thanks for any advice. Bernard
tiger1962
'Rolled strip' would most likely be bare earth or soil. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." Meanwhile and by pure hazard I found pictures of some ot the Algerian airfields which have had those runway pavments. And they show simple dirt terrain.
