Check my specs

Recommended Posts

Hello

I just got msfs2020, only to find out that my computer did not meet minimum req's.

So I am looking at the Geforce GTX 1050ti

My system specs are:

Device name DESKTOP-ICA99GQ

Processor Intel® Core™ i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz

Installed RAM 8.00 GB

Device ID F365C8BE-1AD8-46FD-819B-7584E2AA9194

Product ID 00325-80865-67960-AAOEM

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 1030

I would just like to know will it fly with that card?

Thanks

It will work with a GTX 1050 Ti

I’m not sure about the cpu though. Maybe someone else can confirm if that’s enough to run it.

8gb of ram isn’t ideal either, although that’s the minimum. We don’t know ram speed of course, or what type it is (DDR3..DDR4..etc) so you may need to upgrade the ram too.

If the sim will work, you’re talking minimum specs for everything there so don’t expect much. I always say you should make sure all your pc specs are on at least the recommended level. Preferably at the ideal spec level.

What version of windows have you got installed? You need Windows 10 (1909 build) at least.

I know it’s too late for you now..but you could have bought the game pass one month’s trial (for just £1 / $1 ) which would have let you test the sim to see if it will run.

Steve

No problem.

You’re running Win 10 21H1 is fine…. but going by your reply, you ONLY HAVE 4GB OF RAM (not the bare minimum of 8Gb)

personally I would recommend 16gb as being the minimum

this is what you have installed…

The first bit.. “SSDR 16G P32…etc” is a solid state drive, (not Ram)

I think you need to upgrade.

I think he probably has 2 of those sticks in his system. That’s how I interpreted the thread so far, anyway.

MrKny, the minimum spec for a cpu is Intel i5-4460, which means the i5-7400 will be fine. In any case, if you’re looking at that general level of performance for the GPU, the GPU itself will likely be the bottleneck.

Speaking of which, the 1050Ti is below the minimum spec, which is a 770. Few people seem to realize this, probably because of Nvidia’s confusing naming convention. If I were you, I’d see if I can find a 970 somewhere if you’re on a tight budget. It’s leagues ahead of a 1050Ti. I’m using one and it’s hanging in there.

Good luck!

Hello.

So it looks like I should add another 8G RAM and get a 970 and I should be in good shape.

These are my slots:

One PCIe x16 card slot

Two PCIe x1 card slots

One PCIe x4 card slot

Which make and model of the 970 would you suggest to be best for my system

Thanks a lot

I agree that 16 GB RAM is the minimum for a reasonable experience. If possible, sell your current 8 GB and buy a 2x 8GB kit. This will ensure that both sticks are matched and will give you the best experience.

I think a 970 is the realistic minimum for the sim. I have one from MSI, but any other vendor will do. Just get one that's in good condition and at a reasonable price (good luck). I actually ran it with a 770 for a month, and it was ok, but you had to turn everything down. So much so, that what you ended up with only vaguely resembled the marketing materials.

Before you purchase the ram, you need to ensure that your motherboard can support it.

I would recommend going to crucialmemory.com

They have a free tool that will inspect your system and tell you how much ram you can put in it.
