Monitor or TV?

Recommended Posts

I need some advice on monitors/TV for my flight sim, P3d Ver 4.5...I need to replace my old monitor (Is smoke coming out the back bad?) I would really like a larger screen size (Currently 24") and am torn between a 32" monitor and a 40" TV...Just wondering what the resolution would look like...I know a lot of folks use huge screens but I can't afford that and wouldn't have anywhere to put it anyway...Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks a lot!

32" Monitor is NOT the same screen res as a 40" TV.

Go for the highest res you (and your GPU) can afford and still maintain the required frame rate.

Go to a GoodWill store and get a used monitor (cheap). Just plug it in and turn it on to see if it works as there is usually 'no returns' on electronics. You might be pleased even with a 23 in monitor that has a higher res (2048x1152 -or- 1920x1080) than you would with any size TV. Good luck.
