Grover2005 Posted August 13, 2021 Share Posted August 13, 2021 Just purchased p3d and cannot install...Error message says that there is not enough room on my drive...There is plenty of room on the drive...Is this a common problem and, if so, how do I solve it? Try running the "Free up disk space" from Control Panel if this is your C: drive, and then, especially if this is a SSD, the "Defrag and optimize" also. jorgen.s.andersen Posted August 14, 2021 Share Posted August 14, 2021 The "Defrag and optimize" in Windows Control Panel will NOT defrag a SSD, only mark previously used areas as ready to use again. vgbaron Posted August 16, 2021 Share Posted August 16, 2021 Using the wrong type of defragger will destroy an SSD. Using Trim and Optimize will do what you want and not harm the drive. There are some "defraggers" for SSD's but they basically use the Trim command. Please, when telling someone to defrag an SSD - explain exactly what program and what you mean to avoid some inexperienced user trashing his SSD. Frankly, IMHO, if it says anything like defrag - don't use it period.
