Logitech rudder pedals

I recently installed Logitech's rudder pedals and, while they work fine as far as a flight control system there is a problem. When I launch FSX with the pedals plugged in, the opening screen shot (cockpit) is locked and the cursor has no effect as far as moving around in the sim and/or pulling up different views. And, I can't get out of the sim when this happens. I have to pull the plug on the computer and reboot. After I reboot and get the computer working again, if I unplug the rudder pedals it locks up the computer again. Any ideas?
