SENSITIVITY one setting good across the board?

Recommended Posts

It took awhile to get my head around this sensitivity thing.

I am satisfied with the sensitivity setting for my three planes.

Sort of.

If I understood the sensitivity graph profile a little better I probably would do some more tweaking.

Leave well enough alone.

My beloved Baron and my Bonanza fly good.

My Diamond 62 fly's like it drank too much coffee.

With those long wings it doesn’t like to land.

I have to plan ahead far sooner than I like.

I bounce a lot if I don’t pay strict attention.

It is a really nice looking airplane and I like to fly it.

It’s just a chore to fly.

If I change anything in the sensitivity section, I mess things up for my two other planes.

I make it sound like this is a bad problem. I just have a hard time explaining it. It just prevents me from flying it as much as I would like to do.

I’m pondering making a second Joy stick configuration so I can have a second sensitivity setting. I am not sure I like that idea. I assume that it will work.

All this makes me wonder what the people that fly the jets and big heavy planes do when they jump into their Cessna 172.

Have you tried the DA62X Improvement Mod from flightsim.to? Among the MANY improvements is "Smoother less twitchy control compared to default". You can read the rest of the information and download it here: https://flightsim.to/file/2733/da62x-project

I use it myself and consider it to be one of the "must-have" add-ons for MSFS.

OK

I have never added any thing to MSFS so I had to download a trial version of Winzip.

I then downloaded the DA62X Improvement Mod.

I located the community folder at

C:\Users\glenr\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

The folder was empty.

I assumed that was because I have never added anything to it.

I did a drag and drop and placed DA62X into that folder.

The instructions said something about looking for a green triangle in the game.

I fired up the simulator and I never saw any triangle.

I went for a test flight.

The flight was uneventful and very smooth and the landing was likewise.

I think that does not prove any thing yet.

I worry about that green triangle.

I knew the time would come when I would have to work with the community folder as well as figuring out how to do that Winzip thing.

That time was today.

I hope I did it right.

I have been focused on that sensitivity thing and I never considered an alternate solution.

I have been waiting for all this, I just didn’t think it would be at the expense of my lovely DA62.

I would like to know what you think about all this and I thank you very much.

While working on the problem with my DA 62 I found out that you don’t have to have Winzip to unzip a file.

Windows has an unzipping program already and it is free.

I did not know that.

So I uninstalled the trial version of Winzip.

The next time I have a need to unzip a file I will check it out.

Note that Windows itself can open zip files these days, so no need for WinZip.

And if you do need something a little more powerful, the free 7-Zip is a good, and popular, option.

Thanks

I still would like to know if one sensitivity setting is good for all planes.

It seems a little odd that the sensitivity for a 747 would be good for a 172.

You don't need to download winzip or anything. On your downloads you want to do this with the default downloader. Follow these steps and your golden:

1. Download File

2. Right click on file and select Extract All

3. Choose your Flightsim's Community folder

4. Press Enter

5. Good to go!

Hope this helps you. Let me know how you make out, please! You do not have to purchase anything to extract files.

You got it Mr. Green Man.

As always I welcome your valuable help.

Also thanks to every one else who helped me on this and all of the other problems I had.

For now.

I’m calling the DA62 problem solved.

The DA62X Improvement Mod did the trick.

I made 15 touch and go’s with out a single complaint.

The take off and level flights were as smooth as it gets.

All the turns were the same.

The approaches on Final were very smooth as well as the landings.

I could not ask for a better airplane.

I welcome my lovely DA62 home from Sick bay.

PS

I still worry about the No green triangle thing.

I just spent the last 2 hours flying around Texas in my “NEW” DA62.

I visited many airports and made lots of landings.

The flights were all smooth and very comfortable to fly.

All the landings were very smooth and error free.

That DA62X Improvement Mod, without a doubt, put the word fun back in my flying vocabulary.

All 3 of my planes are now ready to go.

I am a happy camper.

Thanks to all who made that happen.
