Does anything happen when you click on the 'Get Updates' button at the upper right of the screen?

so i fixed it and wanted to share in case anyone else has issues. so to be exact i can not say but here is what i found i had a windows 10 to windows 10 b or something needed to be updated and it was having a problems automatically updating so i did it manual, once i fixed that then the update for flight sim came up and windows firewall was blocking it but that didn't come up before and now it did so i gave permission for flight sim on the firewall and it updated and i was on my way !!! now flying and everything in the world is great again!!!

for a day or so i thought i might of had to go back to x-plane!!!! what a horrible thought !!!

thanks guys for the help!!!

I always check for windows updates and MS store updates, only then do I let MSFS update. this avoids most of the issues you are greeted with updating MSFS..... for some it's never an issue probabilly because they keep everything up to date.......
