natman1965
How will my mind play tricks on me today? It seems every update and despite being well aware of what the placebo effect is I cant seem to help myself. I will undoubtedly perceive some improvement to the sim that just is not there and I don't realize it until a few flights are completed post up date. Makes me feel silly but I guess its just human nature. Edited May 25, 2021 by natman1965

tiger1962
Any improvements (real or imagined) have been overshadowed this year by the unwanted side effects which came with them, from terrain spikes to unplayable FPS rates. We've had plenty of turbulence so far this year, let's hope we can switch off the seatbelts sign today. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." I stopped the download and did a speed check that was fin... so I put it down to the sheer volume of traffic on the update servers... I had to go out for an hour left the update running, got back it had only downloaded 1 gb! so Ive closed up the sim restarted and it's scooping it up now, leading more credence to volume of traffic..... photophart
When I start the sim I'm taken to the Microsoft store "Gaming services" and every stops right there. No notification of DL's or updates and Gaming Services cannot be started. Tried My Library where I see MSFS 2020 but can't launch it, I go right back to Gaming services. Haven't seen this behavior before. Anyone else seeing this? Mark
daspinall
Humble apologies, I now realize why I was getting slow download speed... I was running a VPN through Turkey and their servers would account for the loss of download speed, not Microsoft....... mfdicko
Yes, I'm having the same issue. Every time I try to start MSFS it takes me to the M$ Store to update the GamingServices.exe. It downloads fine, but when it tries to install, it fails every time. I have rebooted and sent messages to M$, but have no reply as yet. When I look in Computer Management/Services, Gaming Services are there but have not started. When you try to manually start them, it tells you that it is pointing to a file which no longer exists. When I tried to look in Windows Apps in C: drive, it tells me I don't even have permissions to view the folder! Thanks M$ - GRRR!
mfdicko
I found this on another thread: No same happened to me its a problemwith Gaming Services update Google best advice is to go to regedit delete Gamingservices and Ganingservices.net restart pc go to Ms Store, Updates, confirm install again of Gaming Services MSFS 2020 working again people fall too often for things like format drive, memory MBR faults because they "read" and make bad selections of what they read and should do Kapitan Anything I say is...not as serious as you think
