Scenery issue

beroun

Recommended Posts

Hi, got a light pole in the middle of the runway at Berne airport. The pole is there with the enhanced LSZB scenery and also shows with the default scenery (after I deactivate the enhanced one). I have de-activated some nearby enhanced sceneries to no avail. The mystery pole is still there. Also I get excessive skips when taking off or landing at Berne, so obviously some other scenery is acting up.

Sorry if I asked this before! but is there any way I can ID what scenery activated this pole and what sceneries affecting the skips are loaded?

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

Yes, have deleted the enhanced LSZB from the scenery folder, and just let the default LSZB load. Pole still there, so assuming it filters in from some other scenery?

Do you have some kind of terrain addon for the area? If so, the pole is probably from a default road that is being covered up by the terrain. If you can find the "reference point" for the road and exclude it using a tool like SBuilder that could remove the pole, but it's often extremely difficult to do. We ended up modifying the terrain.cfg file to eliminate roads sprouting those poles. On my scenery page if you want to try it.

... to eliminate roads sprouting those poles.

Hi.

You can also retain the roads but disable the poles globally by altering a value in fs9.cfg

In the [graphics] section, set

TERRAIN_USE_VECTOR_OBJECTS=0

I've just had a look at your terrain.cfg and I think I'll adopt your approach. It's much more precise than the fs9.cfg bludgeon.

It did see strange to me that Tom Gibson could be unaware of the fs9.cfg setting... ;)

I fail to see what’s wrong with the light pole in the opening image?

I mean, how much easier will it be to see the taxiway entry point at night? :D

I always considered it "runway lighting"! ;)

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
