FSX freezes and unfreezes on long haul

When I do a long haul on VATSIM, the sim will freeze for 10 seconds and unfreeze for 5 seconds. It only happens on long haul flights. I need a solution to this issue because frame rates can be low on X-Plane which VATSIM will disconnect you if the frame rate is not consistently at 20 fps or higher.

Is the simulator you use X-Plane or FSX?

The Simulator is FSX

Two things can have an impact here - your hardware (is it fast enough) and your online connection.

 

The connection issue, if that could be the culprit, you'll have to take up with your Internet provider, but what are your hardware specs?

Your laptop is not strong enough for FSX or for X-Plane.

For FSX this should be OK, unless you have very complicated scenery.

2.0ghz is slow

it's a laptop. laptops overheat, slowing the processor further. (especcially ocerheating after a longer run.).

 

use lower settings. les lsvdetail, few clouds. set framerazte target low.

 

(or buy a good pc...)

Ah I missed that this is a laptop..... that means also make sure FSX is using the nVidia graphics adapter and not the Intel one.
