The history of airport codes

Found this nugget of information and thought I'd share.

Most of you fliers out there are familiar with JFK, LAX and DFW -- the airport codes for New York's Kennedy, Los Angeles International and Dallas-Ft. Worth. But how many of you have flown to SUX?

Yes, SUX - the airport code for Sioux City, Iowa. Luckily, residents there have a sense of humor; instead of bemoaning their unfortunate appellation, they celebrate it: the airport's website sells souvenirs including t-shirts and caps emblazoned with the bold SUX logo.

Thanks. That's a new one for me. There are also some great names to be found on navigation fixes. The one I like the best is a series of fixes on the ILS to Rwy 16 at KPSM which shows ITAWT, ITAWA, PUDYE, TTATT, IDEED (that's what Tweety Bird said as she was being pursued by Sylvester The Cat.)
Intel 10700K @ 5.0 Ghz, Asus Maxumus XII Hero MB, Noctua NH-U12A Cooler, Corsair Vengence Pro 32GB 3200Mhz, Geforce RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, and other good stuff.

LOL Yeah, I saw some interesting fixes when I would fly into Vegas. I can't seem to find them, but I could have swore there was a POKER and CHIPS. I do see a LUCKY.

In Florida there was a TRUMP, but political correctness had them remove it.
