Cheers Tim.

I’ve just quit the sim for the patch. I personally didn’t have any stuttering with the last update. It’ll be interesting to see if it now runs even better :)

Steve

Easy-Peasey install - just a few minutes at my internet speed and the game loaded without issue.,Did a short hop from Midway to Meigs in the 152. Worked fine.

Straightforward installation, MS Store Update first (1.09Gb) then about 135mb download in the sim. Download speed back to my max, which is not fast but it was crawling before. Steam users seem to have a bigger in-game download.

Quick flight seems a lot smoother, scenery looks better somehow although not a big increase in FPS. So far so good.

But a lot of reports on the official MSFS forum of varying success. It obviously hasn't cured everything but made good inroads into the performance problem. No doubt they're still working on it, be further improvements in SU4 which I believe is releasing with WU4 together. That'll be an interesting update!

This update has given me the smoothest flying I have yet seen in MSFS, everywhere I have tried it including KDCA with heavy traffic. Much improved, very impressive. I don't know what they did exactly, but please don't undo it in the next patch!

Mine stutters over large expanses of grassy fields and woodlands. It seems to be OK in urban areas.

I restored some of my ultra settings but not all of them, It's better than yesterday but not as good as last week.

You mean Asobo resurrected Meigs after Richie Daley (Da Mare da Second) bulldozed it into oblivion to spite Illinois' then-Republican governor, Jim Edgar? I gotta get back there for a visit. Back in the day (MSFS '92, or '95, or ''98; I forget), I used to mainly fly from Meigs to O'Hare, or just fly loop-the-Loop landing patterns at Meigs because that's all I had patience for. A long flight for me was a trip in a Lear jet from Meigs to Champaign/Urbana, relying on VORs and DMEs to find my way.

Regarding our beloved Meigs Field? Not Asobo, but a great FREE aftermarket download is available at -

It installs and function with no issues... at least for me and my machine.

I have tried several versions of Meigs, including this one, but have the same problem with all of them: the runway does not show up. Everything else does (buildings, planes) but not the runway. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just updated and HOLY COW it is silky smooth. I don't even get the stutters any more for the first 20 or 30 seconds after entering VR mode as it did before. I am extremely pleased with the results.
