FPS screen won't turn off

I can't get the FPS screen to turn off unless I leave the developers option on, I can uncheck it in the dropdown list and it will go off but as soon as I turn developers mode off the FPS screen pops on and the only way it will stay off is have the D.V. mode on.

What the hell is going on here? it seems to have started after the last update but I can't be sure.

Turn Dev Mode off. Shut down MSFS. Start MSFS up again. FPS screen gone.

Yup. Same issue. I thought I screwed something up.

I had this happen a few months ago and I tried lots of things and I really can't remember what I did, but I think that with it checked off, I got out of developer mode using the drop down at the top of the screen rather than going back to settings.
