Stanley777
Hi everyone, I am having intermittent trouble with the "selected heading mode" when flying the Airbus A320neo. Let's say that I am using autopilot, but just doing VFR flying. In other words, I don't have a flight plan laid in and I am just flying around steering the aircraft by myself (but, as I say, with the autopilot engaged). I know the difference between "managed heading mode" and "selected heading mode," and I know how to switch between the two. The problem is that the aircraft does not always respond right away, and it doesn't always seem to settle on the heading that I put into the heading knob. Have I explained the issue well enough? Does anyone please know what is going on? Thank you. mjhopkins
I have teh same problem -- PLUS i can't get the 320 to engage with autopilot. Tried to use the heading indication to fly to a destination, but like with the autopilot, it just starts to veer off -- usually rolls to the right eventually. plainsman
Would you pleaser answer the question, are you in managed or selected? Managed is the default. Then i need to know what mode you are in? It isn't anything like the FSX autopilot. The autopilot issue is usually down to controller interference or 'chatter'. The fix is to increase your rudder and aileron dead zone in the sensitivity settings, I have mine set to 10 which cured it for me. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." Timberleaf
These are known bugs. If you haven't already done so, download the FBW (FlyByWire) mod for the A320 @ https://github.com/Externoak/A32NX-installer/releases/latest/download/A32NX_Downloader.zip, and choose Developer" version. The "Stable" version doesn't work yet, since the last updates by MFS20. You can see the mod in action at the MFS20 Discord channel.
