Hi Tim, thanks for posting, I can’t wait. Wonder what improvement we’ll see

I have the ORBX London Airport and Landmarks installed. Makes me wonder if ASOBO consults with scenery developers to avoid conflicts so they will co-exist together.
I contacted ORBX about my installed LOWI Airport after I saw ASOBO also updated their LOWI Airport. They recommended deleting (I'll probably just disable it) the ASOBO LOWI if there was a conflict, some say there are bumps in the runway.
Probably will have to do same for London.
I was going to get the Drzewiecki Design - Washington Landmarks but decided to wait until they updated the President. Now looks like with latest ASOBO Washington D.C update it doesn't even seem necessary.

I also wonder if they coordinate at all with developers? Until there's complete photogrammetry for the entire world I'm sure there will be plenty of room for third parties, but it could still be an issue if third party efforts get undercut by these world updates.
The bumps in the runway are not intrinsic to the airport, they are a function of insufficient data transfer rate, usually from a slow internet connection, slow ram speed, or use of a HD. This is particularly a problem in very dense scenery. If you have a fast computer with fast memory and a great internet connection, you won't see the "bumps".

I wonder how complete the update will be for the UK. I have been designing UK piers (Ryde pier will be the next release) and I am now wondering if I am wasting my time. Asobo's version of Brighton pier is very good so if they are going to do more of them I think that I will hold off.

It's tough on freeware developers and payware developers alike, but with around 250 UK free-ware scenery addons that i know about (thanks guys for all the efforts!) it's hard to see how a general update won't step on some people's toes. The sad thing is it will probably make freeware developers hold off until after the January update. The main thing I hope for from Asobo / M'soft is the broad base stuff than individuals can't do - like improving the scenery mesh. I'm not sure if they plan to improve the ai place buildings too?
One of the best updates they could do is sort the sea level out. I do a lot of flying around the northwest where there are some stunning beaches and texture variations when the tide is out, but in the sim, the coasts let it down. I spent many a year beach hopping in my microlights in real life but would drown in MSFS trying the same!
Yeah, a few beaches and piers would be nice, along with some regional airport upgrades and cliffs without water running up the sides of them. It would also be nice to have some waves without turning the wind up to 40 knots.

Good point about the waves. I wonder if there is an XML file somewhere that can be altered to change the minimum wave size for a given wind speed
