I've just made a mess of my settings.

I've just reinstalled FSX with the application pack and reinstalled all my aircraft and it looks good, everything is as it should be.

It's taken me a few days to get to this point.

However, I unticked "Preview DirectX 10" in the settings after reading a tweak post. Now, after re-ticking the Directx 10 box to get back to how I was, all my aircraft have turned white whereas they weren't before.

Leaving DirectX 10 disabled shows the aircraft liveries as they should be but I'd like to get DirectX 10 back as it does look a lot better.

Any ideas how I get back to how it all was with Directx 10 enabled?

I'm on Windows 10 and a fast SSD PC.

Thanks,

Chris

Open FSX.cfg. Change `1` to 0` for the direct x 10 line.

Sorted.

Thank you, I'll have a look at that. Still trying to figure out why FSX on Windows 10 has closed the door on the Preview DirectX 10 setting when it worked just fine the day before. I may have to do yet another reinstall just to get back to what I had but it takes a good two days.

Anyone with any ideas, please chip in...

Steve's DX10 Scenery Fixer is a must have, or try this...

...this (shader) cache is prone to be messed up when settings of fsx.CFG are changed or system is toggled between DX9 and DX10, etc.

EDIT: Instead of just deleting it, you might want to move the contents as a backup in case something goes wrong! Good Luck!
