To those having Crash To Desktops...

Recommended Posts

...How long before it happens? Do you know the cause?

Sorry it is happening, I haven't had any CTD's. Maybe because I don't fly that long (a hour or two)?

Hi, I’m still having the crashes (not like last week though, at least the sim launches now)

It has crashed within half an hour or so, but it’s usually after 6-8 hours.

Last night for instance I had it displayed on just one screen (instead of my usual three). I disabled my Saitek panels & removed their drivers. With Afterburner runnnig, i also downclocked my GPU slightly. When I use three screens, the GPU usage is always on 100% or just under and it’s temperate around 80-83 degrees. There’s a significant drop in usage and temp when I just use one screen.. as long as I limit the FPS to 30 (which I have done using the nvidia control panel.

I was going to complete disable Windows Defender last night but I didn’t.

In the past I have reduced my RAM speed and even disabled XMP. But this time I left it at it’s full speed of 3600. I can’t see my ram being the cause of the crashes though as the usage is always low.

Anyway, last night the sim crashed after about 7 hours. You can see it happen here...

(I keep a camera on, filming it)

One thing you may notice.. Afterburner gives slightly different results to the gamebar. Probably not relevant though.

I’ll do more testing next weekend.

Regards

Steve
