Balloons

I was wondering:

I downloaded Peter Walker's balloons from Simviation, parseval-sigsfield_balloon.zip & WWi French_Caquot_Balloon.zip, as they will be great for my Golden Wings.

However, they are CFS2 aircraft, so I put in panels & did the usual ui_manufacturer, ui_type & ui_variation mods to the aircraft.cfg.

It flies, but not for long, as it starts decending.

Any ideas to keep them afloat?

I'm guessing your throttle controls a burner, maybe? :confused:

Check your .air file and see what its based on. That should give you a clue on what to try. :pilot:

Hi Robin, you may like to try another version of the Parseval balloons (German, British, French markings) done by Gary Aumauger. They have the advantage of already having a panel. You can download them from the Freeflight archive at: http://sim-outhouse.com/freeflight/WW1_CFS2_OrgAircraft2.html

Just found them myself, so haven't as yet tested them. It may also be worthwhile checking out the air file from the Wind Riders Hot Air Balloon [FS2002] by Bill Lyons.
