Rupert Posted October 29, 2020 Share Posted October 29, 2020 NICE SHOTS! Of course lots of planes and long taxis to the gate! Gatwick was usually faster to the gate and out of customs, but not a lot! Having said that, as a non EEOC member resident, the lines for entrance and exit passport inspections for visitors at both airports were always hugely long. Enough so that I now usually only travel there now by ship!! IMHO, If you want to get into London quickly after clearing customs at the airport, if possible, choose to fly into and out of Gatwick! The Gatwick Express is so much faster, 1/3 cost, and more enjoyable going either way than any cab or whatever trip I've ever made to or from Heathrow!! Arrive at Heathrow at 06:30 and get into Picadilly, if you're lucky at 10:00!! At Gatwick, a 06:30 flight arrival will typically get you to Paddington by 08:30, 08:45 and they also have a full bar and snacks service aboard 24/7!! ;):D Michael Of course with BREXIT, once the coronavirus thing is over, people from Europe may experience those long lines as well.
